Those first days where always chaos. Prepping up the filming of a new season got you running fort an back on every possible way. As an actor you had to follow the schedule, as a crew member, your head was spinning for days now. You hardly get proper breakfast or you headed to out for the first official gathering with cast and crew together. You rushed out with a coffee, stepped into your car, throwing your sketches and photo's onto the driver's seat. You laid your hand on the steering wheel and pushed your fingers against your temple, gazing into the darkness of this night. Today would be rough, meeting the cast again, putting up the schedules for their hairs. They wouldn't be remotely good looking on screen if it wasn't for your, so you kind off were proud of your job. That thought instantly gave you the courage to start your car and drive out there.

'Y/n.'
'Yes,' You turned around, careful to not spill any coffee while looking over to the director, he normally didn't talked so much to you, there were a lot of people between him and you so you were a little nervous on standing before him.
'You ready for it?' He asked you with an encouraging smile.
'Yes,' you pulled all the papers up that were stuck between your chest and arm. 'all set.' You nodded.
'Good, glad to see you back.' He gave you a short shoulder pet before walking on. You turned around, smiling before sipping your coffee and walking further to the meeting room. It was nice to see so much familiar faces back, got you really excited about the upcoming season. The whole crew, from the ones prepping the clothes, making the scenery, training the horses, make up and you, head of the hair team where there. You dropped your papers down by the team and started to get through the hair models, the difficult braids, discussing the different actors and their hair when they dropped in, like a bomb. All noises and energy. Everybody turned around, some clapping for their favorite stars to walk in. You loved the show, the fact you were part of it, to work with them so you had your favorites to. Alex was all the energic guy, greeting everybody first row with Georgia right behind him. You smiled, enjoying the greeting they made with the whole team.
'If we not took care of our hair I don't know what will. Tell me Y/n?' Alex said as he turned around his body.
'We can work with that.' You smiled as he bow.
'Good, it was a pain in the ass on warm days.'
'I can imagine.' You chuckled. He placed a kiss on your cheek before walking on to the rest. You smiled while greeting the others, Katheryn, Jordan and Marco somewhere behind all of that madness. He was looking at you, or at least you felt his look, so when you looked up he smiled in an instant. 'Giving you are here, Hvitserk survives another season.' You greeted him.
'You didn't know.'
'They give me all the work up head but no spolers, so no, I didn't know.' You answered him with a short look towards the director.
'Well, I'm here.'
'Glad to see you Marco.' You nodded to him. He looked good, you had no clue where he was up to in the break other than the few things he placed on Instagram. You were glad to see him, truly, the calm mind to a group of madness. The director jumped on a chair and Marco looked away from you, turning around to watch the director and his speech. You looked at his back for a minute before pulling up a smile and starting to listen to the speech the director gave you all.

That whole first day went by in a flash. Most of the time you were gathered with your team, pointing out the hairstyles and hanging the pictures up in the workroom you had. The cast celebrated their first day back together and some of the crew joined but not you, as head of the hair team you needed to be ready for tomorrow. It would be early morning so you jump in bed a little sooner than on other days only to wake up half an hour past your alarm.
'Shit!' You curses, running out of your bed and reaching for your clothes. On all days, today you overslept. It was somewhere past 4AM and you had to be on set over half an hour. That meant no shower, no breakfast and straight in the car. You managed to get some cold water into your face and brush your teeth before you grabbed your stuff and ran out, closing the door behind you and leaving the apartment for you car. In your life you never had been late on anything, ignoring the speed limits neither this time. You were a little out of breath, dropping your carkeys at the table when looked over to the mirror and saw how messy you looked. You pulled your hair into a messy ponytail and crawled behind the little desk, prepping the time line you and the team had to work in when one of the assistance came in.
'Coffee?' She asked friendly.
'Yes, a big amount.' You signed. Her eyes traveled away and a shy smile came on her lips as she walked away. You let your head rest on your arm, looking to the doorway, waiting for whatever that was coming, Marco.
'Good,' he felt silent as he saw your messed up face. 'not.' He guessed. You signed dramatically and pulled a small smile up.
'Overslept. Don't tell me you are already here for your hair.'
'No, just saying good morning.' His fingers trembled against the doorframe before he pulled away, planning on leaving again.
'You were a pretty cute kid.' You said. He froze and turned back around. Yeah, you saw his little video, that he was signing his first contract as an actor, it was cute, to say the least.
'You saw that.'
'If you don't want people to see it you shouldn't post it on Instagram.' You advised him. He chuckled, stepping aside for the assistant.
'Thank you, I will leave you to work, see you in a bit.'
'You are an amazing actor, don't even doubt that.' You said him friendly.
'Hardly.' He said, walking away. You squeezed your eyes together, smiling into your own thought. That was what you loved about Marco, he was more reserved, calm, could be even shy sometimes. He was an amazing friend. You grabbed the coffee from the assistant and got back to work until your team arrived and you gave them each their work schedule for today. It didn't took long of Katheryn walked in, you stood with three before the photo wall and she joined you, admiring all the typical hairstyles from back in the day.
'I always loved that one.' She pointed out. You followed her finger and smiled, turning to you workspace and grabbing one of the photo's laying there.
'I hope you will enjoy this one to.' You presented her. It wasn't a difficult braid, a part of her hair would be loose, side braided in.
'I love all of it.'
'Tamara is going to do your hair.' You pointed her to one of the seats. Katheryn took place and you hanged the photo aside the mirror. You were placing up the pictures of the boys when they walked in ten minutes later than expected.
'You are late.' Katheryn punished them.
'Ten minutes don't harm anyone.'
'Well if I get the critics about doing my job not good enough.' You answered Alex, pointing him his chair. Energic as he was he dropped down in his seat, sitting between Katheryn and Marco, Jordan closed the row. You always did the most difficult braids, for this it was Marco. Ubbe had mostly the same braid through the series and for Ivar it would be all braided in, but Marco ... you stood still behind his chair and gave him a short smile through the mirror. You sipped from your coffee, pulling the bun out of his hair before pulling your work cart closer, false hair, hundreds of clips, hair brushes, the whole deal. Alex started talking about his time in America and everybody begin to work silently. You looked down to Marco his hair, stroking your fingers through it to get it all back. Not even your hair was so well attend and soft as his was. You looked towards the photo before you got to work, weaving your skilled fingers through his hair. You enjoyed your work and Marco like always enjoyed it to. You looked through the mirror, hardly listening to Alex anymore.
'What did you do in the time off?' You asked him. He seemed sleepy, enjoying the touch of your fingers through his hair.
'Family, mostly.' He answered.
'Didn't you go to Greece?'
'Yes, road trip, lovely country.' He smiled to you, like he appreciated the fact you knew, which you had to thank Instagram for. While Alex gave all the details Marco didn't, be reserved in his personal life like he was in everything else. So you went quietly further with his hair, enjoying the soft brown strands that you easily turned into a braid. Some time past and in the silence that felt you noticed Marco sitting there whit closed eyes. You couldn't keep back on smiling.
'Is Marco sleeping?' Jordan asked, already ready and slapping Marco on his knee.
'No, I wasn't sleeping.'
'Enjoying woman hands?' Alex teased. Marco changed a look with you through the mirror but he didn't say much. 'Fantasying?'
'Boys.' Katheryn interrupted them. Alex laughed and Jordan gave Marco a shoulder pet before walking out.
'I've been known to have the magical hands.' You backed Marco up on his lazy dreaming.
'Besides, if you're up so early this is the only thing you can relax a little.' Marco followed. You couldn't help but feeling at least a little proud.
'Are you single Y/n?' Alex asked. You looked aside to him and nodded, confused for what he asked that. 'Hmmm.' He turned his eyes back in the mirror and you frowned your own eyebrows before finishing Marco his hair. He didn't say a thing, just occasionally gazed through the mirror to you until you gave him the go.
'Happy acting.' You said as he walked through the hallway away. He turned, walking backwards.
'Thanks for the hair.' He winked. You nodded and walked back into your workspace. You felt like needing a little nap, or at least somebody doing your own hair for a change.

Terrible starts of days attended to end in distracter to apparently. You stood before your car, getting through your bag, maps, jacket looking for the keys of your apartment. You never saw them since yesterday, what meant you last them or left them inside ... for which you would be locked out of your own apartment. Luckily you rent the place so there needed to be a building owner. You looked into your phone for a number, calling it while you looked to the others leaving set. Alex got sight of you and gestured you to tag alone, you shook your head, pointing to your own phone. He said something to Marco for which he and Marco walked your way. In the meantime you got to hear that your building owner wasn't available for the next two days. 'Problems?' Alex asked friendly. You smacked your phone down on the car and just tried to be positive.
'No nothing.' You forced a smile on your face.
'Not joining?' Alex asked, pointing over his shoulder to the rest. You shook your head and he trailed of again.
'You are a bad liar.' Marco noticed. You looked away from Alex his back and up to him.
'Locked myself out of my apartment.'
'Why didn't you tell earlier?'
'Don't want to make my poor problems any of yours. I'm crew, nothing more.' There was always a line between crew and cast. Marco chuckled, pulling out the keys of his own car.
'Is that how you feel?' He asked careful. You shook your head, gathering your stuff back together.
'I'm just frustrated I guess, long first day.' You signed, not looking back to him but just gathering everything in your car.
'Come with me, you can stay at my place for the night.' He suggested. You slowly turned around to him, opening your mouth before shacking it.
'No, really I'm fine Marco. I will stay here.' You pointed to the building. He followed your gaze, frowning.
'You gonna stay here? All by yourself?'
'Yeah, I will be fine.' You smiled, already feeling scared by staying at this enormous empty place. He paused for a moment and you were almost sure you won before he grabbed your bag.
'Come with me.'
'Marco,'
'Y/n, I'm not letting you stay here.'
'And I don't want to interrupted your plans.' You reacted right back. He smiled and shook his head.
'You are not interrupting. Come on.' He turned around and started walking with his keys in his hands and your bag. You signed, grabbing the rest of your stuff before following him.

The apartment that he rent was a lot nicer than yours. You looked around and turned around to him, approvingly. 'You have good taste.' You nodded. He chuckled, waking into an open kitchen from which you had view on the small living room.
'You doubted that?' He asked amused.
'I don't know you that well. I mean, we technically don't work together, I just do your hair.' You shrugged, looking how he went through his freezer. 'You don't have to make me something Marco, I'm already glad that I can stay for the night.' You smiled.
'Then I have a visitor and you don't let me cook.'
'I mean it. Thank you.' You said with a serious face. He turned his head away from the freezer and looked over to you.
'How does ordering pizza sound?' He said with a little grin. You chuckled and nodded accepting, pizza just sounded good after a day like this. You looked how grabbed his phone, his hair pulled up in a messy bun, still showing the left over from your art this morning. You turned around and looked back into his apartment, looking to the little things that laid around that give you more information about him. There was a picture of him and his family, you grabbed it and looked at it, smiling when you recognized him in between the others persons. 'Big family.' You looked over your shoulder to him standing in the doorway.
'Lucky you.' You said. He laid his phone down and came to stand beside you, smiling to the picture. 'I can imagine it isn't easy, being here. You seem like a family person.' You noticed, looking aside to him.
'You read me to well Y/n.' He chuckled. You blushed, placing the photo back on stand as you turned around. 'If you want to shower bathroom is there, if you want to drink, I have wine or beer and if you want to sleep my room is all yours. Pizza will be here in half an hour.'
'I will take the couch.' You protested, placing yourself on the couch. He gave you a stubborn look and you giggled. 'Please, you do already so much, and it sits good.' You said, jumping a little up and down while looking over the couch.
'Alright.' He gave in, walking behind the kitchen and holding up a bottle of wine.
'You want to keep me here Marco?' You asked amused. He chuckled but didn't answer the question while he pulled two glassed out and pouring them half full with wine. He walked back and gave you one of them before sitting aside of you. You twirled the wine around before taking a sip, tasting the wine. 'Is there something you don't have a good taste in?' You asked, looking into your glass, again approvingly. He had his elbow rested against the head end of the cough and let his head rest against his fist. You looked up, noticing him looking at you and you softly smiled. 'What?' You asked doubtful.
'Nothing.' He shook his head, looking down in his own glass.
'Marco.' You insisted.
'Do you love the job?' He asked curious. You looked at him and shrugged.
'I want a raise, I work to hard for what I get.'
'So you were serious when you were talking about crew and cast?' He guessed. You pulled your legs up and wrapped an arm around it, drinking from the wine while thinking about his words.
'Isn't it? There are not many getting out of that room thanking me for my job, except for you.' You pointed to him.
'You are doing a good job Y/n.' He whispered. You nodded, looking shortly up to his hair before gazing back into the living room. It was like he was planning on saying something more but the doorbell sounded and he jumped up, walking away. It didn't took him long to come back with the pizza, you even didn't notice how fast time went. 'Bon appétit.' He announced, placing the box down on the little table and opening it. You liked your lips, looking aside to him before taking a piece. Pizza, this was such a good idea. 'What would you do normally, when you could get into your apartment?' He asked curious. You looked to the slice and tried to catch a strand of cheese that kept hanging between your lips and the piece. You licked it away and chewed it down before answering.
'Working probably. With a glass of wine, the tv on but the drafts before me.'
'You don't go out?'
'Not much. I'm an inside cozy person.' You admitted. This looked a lot like that, having some time off, with a friend, pizza and a glass of wine. It was fun, relaxing.
'And you have no boyfriend.' He stated.
'They need to see me standing first. And they don't love it much when I travel around to work in series with guys like in Vikings.' You chuckled. You had already a relationship or two but it didn't worked out because of your job.
'I see you standing.' He reacted. You looked back to him and softly smiled.
'Yeah, but you are a friend.' You reacted right back. Something changed in his eyes, he turned his head away and focused on his slice of pizza rather than looking to you. You squeezed your eyes together and lowered your hand with the slice on it a little. 'Right?' You asked him carefully. He looked aside to you, rather fast before he signed.
'Maybe.'
'Marco.' You whispered.
'I promised myself on telling you. But every time I saw you I just shut down.' He explained. Your eyes widened a little. He liked you? What that what he was telling you?
'How long?'
'Since the first year I was on set.' He answered. All that time and you never saw the signs, just because he was an actor and actors didn't looked to the crew. It broke your heart, knowing this, replaying all the memories in which he said good morning, he almost fell asleep while you did his hair, the smiles and supports he gave you. You buried your head against your pulled up knees, groaning.
'Why didn't you told me earlier?' You asked, looking back.
'Cast and crew, the line between it.' He shrugged, drinking his glass empty before laying his piece back in the box, not so hungry anymore.
'I know.' You whispered. He stroke his hand over his hair and sighed.
'You don't need to,' He didn't finish, laughing before he got up, getting himself the bottle of wine.
'You are that sensitive, insecure?'
'I'm not Alex Y/n.' He shrugged.
'No, you are not. That is why I like you more.' You pointed out. He smiled and you putted your glass out for some more. Nothing changed, you talked about all kind of things, his confession lingering somewhere in between. You needed to sleep over that one, Marco Ilso liked you ... how did that happen.

Your alarm went over a little to early. You groaned, getting up in the cough and yawning. It got a little late last night, the empty pizza box still stood on the table, the bottle of wine as empty as the pizza box. You stroke your hair out of your face and gazed into the darkness before smiling a little. Marco was open last night, you got to know him a lot more and he you. It was nice. You never felt like this before, so relaxed, appreciated. You pulled the blanket away and walked over the cold floor to the kitchen. He would wake up half an hour after you so you had time for a shower and returning the favor by making him a little breakfast. You scrambled some eggs, your hair still damped from the shower you took. You made coffee, knowing he was a coffee guy just like you were. You toasted some bread, made a little fruit salad and just as he walked of the bedroom you served it on the table. He kept still in the doorway, looking at the breakfast before looking up to you.
'Good morning.' You said with an insecure smile, not knowing his reaction to it.
'Y/n, you didn't had to do this.'
'I wanted to. That is me thanking you for letting me crash here.' You replied, handing him his coffee.
'How was the cough?' He asked, his voice a little raspy. You admired that morning face before turning your face fast down to the table, taking place as he did.
'Good, almost better than my own bed.' You bite your fingertips, looking how he drank the coffee and focused on his eggs.
'Will the building owner come to the rescue?'
'Probably. He said he would call back so,' you shrugged, focusing on your own breakfast. You never felt like this, waking up with a man you worked with for over some time now, who felt something for you. It kind of created his own feeling. You looked at him to often during that small breakfast, wanting to know how it would feel. It kept you busy all night, guessing the possible effects of this.
'You can stay as long as you like.' He pointed to the cough. You smiled into your cup of coffee, enjoying this breakfast with a young man you never thought enjoying. When he was ready you started to clean off the table, walking into his kitchen with the plates and cups. 'You don't need to do this.' He started. You turned around against the kitchen and looked how he put his own cup away. When he turned around you laid your hand on his arm.
'Marco.' You started. He looked down to your hand before he slowly turned back around. 'About last night, about what you said,' you began uncertain. He didn't move, neither did your hand.
'You don't have to,'
'I want to.' You interrupted him. He squeezed his eyes a little together, tensed. 'Did you mean what you say, that you like me?' You asked him softly. He nodded without saying the words. Your fingers softly rose a little from his skin and he looked down to it again before he lifted his hand and laid it against your elbow.
'I like you and I should told you a lot sooner.' He stepped closer and your fingers slipped away from his arm to his side.
'I'm a pretty insecure to. I don't want it to be a false feeling, you are my friend, I don't want to lose that.' You looked up to him and he softly shook his head.
'You are spooking through my head for quite some time now.'
'You know it is hard to believe right.'
'Don't let that line between cast and crew hold you back.' He came another step closer and you looked to his chest before smiling and looking back up to him.
'I'm sorry for not noticing.'
'I don't mind.' He whispered, bringing two fingertips up to touch your chin. He lowered his head and you looked into his eyes, giving him the silent approval before his lips contacted with yours. You closed your eyes, feeling the thought of his lips against yours. You hand rested against his chest, you moved your lips against his before he pulled back. You licked your own lips before opening your eyes to his. He stroke his fingertips over your cheek to your neck. 'Nobody needs to know.' He whispered. You nodded, smiling insecure as he smiled just as carefully back.
'You better keep that cough around then.' You answered back, petting your hand against his chest. He smiled, contacting his forehead shortly with yours before pulling back.
'We are gonna be late.' He announced. You smiled, looking how he walked to the bathroom before you wrapped your fingers over your mouth and started dancing around to grab you stuff together. You kissed Marco Ilso and it felt so damn good.
