H1Z1: Fight for the Crown is the first official H1Z1 tournament to be broadcast on cable television. Organised by Twin Galaxies and the CW, 15 teams consisting of 5 players from across the globe fought it out for a share of the $300,000 prize pool.

The teams that took part were:

CLGCloud 9 (C9)Denial Esports (Denial)Echo FoxEnigma 6 (E6)LuminosityObey Alliance (Obey)Ohio RebelsPanda Gaming (PG)Rogue Esports (Rogue)SetToDestroyX (StdX)SoarStrictly Business (SB)Team Graves (TG)World's Best Gaming (WBG)

The game started smoothly for Echo Fox as the team spawned at the hospital, isolated from other teams. As soon as the gas started spreading, the team began to move towards the south-east to reach the first safe zone.

Soon, the Foxes reached a bridge near Cranberry and that's when they saw the first airdrop of the match. Shortly after reaching said bridge, the team used smoke grenades to create cover while they made for the airdrop and claimed a sniper rifle.

As the safe zone began to shrink for a second time, the first firefight of the game broke out. CLG's Grimmybear was dropped by Chance from Team Graves while Panda Gaming took out the Ohio Rebels in a 5 for 1 trade. In the chaos, a few other teams lost single members, thinning the field slightly.

While this was happening Echo Fox moved to the northeast and spotted the rest of CLG driving. The Foxes forced CLG away and moved towards a small cabin near Cranberry's gas station. When they arrived, they discovered Strictly Business camping inside.

The team traded kills by taking out two from SB, but losing CbkFlame in the process. At this point, SetToDestroyX started firing from the forest behind as well and took out another member of SB.

Adding to the chaos of the firefight, the safe zone started shrinking again and Echo Fox was forced out into the gas. A well-thrown grenade by SB dropped hoowy and Chicken to rather low HP and the team decided to retreat after Radek successfully took out the final member of SB.

The gas continued to encroach on Echo Fox's position as they attempted to retreat and SetToDestroyX refused to let up the pressure as the team pursued the Foxes. JerkChicken got taken out by another member from StdX and shortly after that the rest of the team died to the toxic gas as they tried to retreat. Echo Fox ended the tournament in eleventh place.

After the death of Echo Fox, the game's pace picked up and teams started dropping left and right. TG took out Soar, Obey and E6 killed most of CLG, and Rogue dropped to Denial.

As the gas started closing in again TG took out the last members of PG, and WBG and Luminosity took down TG.

When the safe zone shrunk again, only six teams remained: CLG, Luminosity, Rogue, Obey, WBG and Denial.

Unwilling to take risks at this post, the six remaining teams slowed the pace down. The last team to place outside of the top five, missing out on a share of the prize pool, was Rogue. The team's last remaining member, cloak, fell to an assault from Luminosity.

After the safe zone shrunk in size again, Denial and CLG lost their final members – Leaving 13 players remaining. 5 of Obey, 4 of WBG, and 4 of Luminosity.

Rather than take on the stronger Obey, WBG and Luminosity targeted each other. This gave Obey the opportunity to pick off members of both teams in the crossfire. When the final member of Luminosity fell, Obey took the opportunity to overwhelm the weakened WBG. Without dropped a single member, Obey Alliance to the H1Z1 Fight for the Crown title.

Overall, the team left the tournament having gained valuable for experience. As the first major team event for H1Z1, Echo Fox fans can be certain that the Foxes have learned a lot of this tournament, and will come back even stronger next time.
