Chapter Four:
I woke up with a little more energy than usual, so I decided to spend a little time on my hair and makeup. My hair is light brown and a couple inches longer than my shoulders. My eyes are blue and almond shaped, hard to put makeup on. I walked over to my closet, grabbed some jeans and a black shirt. I was running late so I grabbed an apple, my backpack and my pink converse shoes and ran out the door. Today was my last class for the semester, and then I have a two month break from school. I just have to get past these two hours of pure torture. The walk is about ten minutes, I have a car, but it’s just a little too flashy for my taste. It was a moving away gift from my parents, and believe me, I was happy to go. I walked out the main doors of my apartment building and throw my apple core in the trash can. I cupped my hand around my cross necklace and start my journey to Journalism Building 2B. When I walk in the classroom, everyone is getting ready for the test and as the teacher arrives the room goes quiet. As he hands out the test, all that’s on my mind was Chris. If Chris wasn’t at the café would Anthony of done something to me again? Would things of played out different between those two boys on the way home? When I realized what I was doing, I snapped back to reality. I had to do well on this test, I had to focus. Just as the professor collected the last test, he sent us on our way. Everyone was cheerful now that it was break. As I was walking down the street I decided I would head over to the café to grab something to drink then plan things from there. I turned the corner and was speechless to see him walking towards me, in uniform. A smile came to my face as I called his name, “James! James! I’ve missed you so much,” I ran towards him but was devastated to find out that the closer I got to him, the more he disappeared. I guess I had forgotten it was all an illusion that God decided to trick me with. I took a deep breath and continued to walk. Luckily, no one was on the street. I walked in the café, ordered and left as quick as I could. I walked back to my apartment building and began the long journey up. I decided to take the steps to the 15th floor, in hopes to pass some time. As I walked up to my room I leaned over to unlock the door when all the air escaped from my body. The door was already unlocked and pushed open a little bit. I had already opened the door and stepped in, I couldn’t leave now. I heard rustling around in the living room, and then I was frozen. Footsteps were walking towards me. I had no choice, I screamed.
