During the week I found out quite a few things about the new boy. First, his name is Max Samuels. He moved here from Australia two weeks ago due to his dads job. He was actually really funny and fit in perfectly with our group of friends. Not only that, he was a fucking genius. We were already arranging study groups for me, Max, Michael, and Luke.

"Malia, we gotta go." Max was practically dragging me to our next class. It was my first one with Calum of the day. I hated seeing him everyday. His little smile and quirks that I missed. It killed me seeing him and knowing he wasn't mine. Then again, it's my fault he isn't mine. I dumped him. I am the one refusing to get back together with him. But then again, he cheated. He fucked up and doesn't deserve me. That's what Max says anyway.

During the next class, I spent it staring at Max and taking in all of his features. He had green eyes, floppy brown hair, and the cutest little freckles. He was probably around 6'3 and had really broad shoulders. He seemed pretty well built actually, like someone who worked out regularly.

"Like what you see?" A thick Australian accent broke my gaze. Max gave me a smirk and I rolled my eyes in response. The rest of the class was spent joking around and laughing. He was so easy to be with. No pressure to prove myself. He reminded me of Calum in that way. But no. He's not Calum. Max would never hurt me.

Calum was staring at us during class and the next one as well. When we left school, Max and I met up with Michael and Luke and headed back over to my place. It was a Friday night so there were no worries about staying up late. We decided to have a movie marathon this weekend after finding out that Max has seen almost no movies. Everyone was staying at my place and my mom went out of town for some conference this weekend. Michael insisted that we watch Star Wars but I tried getting out of that one.

"Can we please watch 80s first? We can work up to Star Wars?" I batted my eyes and pleaded with Michael. I was hoping that we could spend enough time on 80s and cliche romantic comedies that we wouldn't have time for Star Wars.

"Fine." He pouted and sat on the couch. I jumped up in joy and put on The Breakfast Club before sitting on the couch between Max and Luke. Michael was on the other side of Luke.

A box of pizza and a few movies later, everyone was starting to get sleepy. We were watching Dirty Dancing. It was almost midnight. I was leaning on Max and his arm was around my waist. It was nice having someone this close to me. He smelled really nice too. The smell of his hoodie was the last thing I remember before falling asleep for the night.
