It was Monday afternoon. I hadn't spoken to Max all weekend and I'm quite happy with cutting him out of my life. Sure Calum still texted and called and I guess I do owe him some sort of closure or whatever after what I told him at the party, but first I needed to find her.
I knew where her locker was. It was only down two halls from mine. I took long strides to where she was. Her group of friends circled her as she fixed her hair in the mirror in her locker. One of them spotted me and started giggling. She whispered something to the rest of them and they all glanced at me. They looked at me as if they were superior. Normally I would've ran the other way by now but it was too late and I was fuming. She turned around to face me.
"Hey Malia! How've you been?" She plastered on a fake smile and acted as though she was Americas sweetheart.
"Hey Melissa. I've been fucking great. How have my sloppy seconds been?" I didn't try to hide the disgust in my voice. Her face fell and she got on a look that matched her friends.
"Oh darling, they're not your sloppy seconds. They were just upgrading to something better." She snarled. Is she fucking joking?
"It an upgrade to hook up with the school slut?" Her friends gasped that I would say something like that.
"You know, at least guys stay with me darling. They don't leave me." Her voice was lowering as her face got closer to mine. She was talking to me now as if I was a preschooler and she was explaining how to tie your shoes.
"They only stay cause you're easy. That doesn't make you an upgrade." I was getting angrier by the second.
"Oh really because Calum surely seemed like I was an upgrade when he was moaning my name as I-" That was all she was able to say before my fist connected with her jaw. She fell to the floor and was holding her face.
"Try keeping guys when you can't suck their dick." And with that I turned around and walked away. My heart was pounding as I walked out to Michael's car. I've never been a violent person. I don't even remember going to hit her. My fist surely hurt though. Tears were streaming down my face as I remember what she was told me about her and Calum. Maybe she really was an upgrade.
"Hey! What's wrong?" Calum's voice rang through my ears. When I looked up he was standing in front of me.
"Was Melissa an upgrade? Please be honest." His face looked confused.
"What are you talking about?"
"Was Melissa an upgrade? Am I really such a shit person that Melissa was an upgrade and that's why you cheated?"
"Malia no! She is dirt compared to you. You're a fucking angel. You were too good for me and I knew it. Melissa was nothing except for the biggest regret of my life. I would do anything to go back and fix everything." This was the moment that changed everything.
"Calum what're you doing tonight?" My question caught him off guard.
"Uh...nothing. Why?"
"Come over to my house tonight."
I promise I have big plans for the future of this story and I'm trying to update more. This chapter was soooo short and shit but I'll try to update tomorrow!!!
