My whole walk home was filled with thoughts about Jackson and how he was such a flirt. I mean I had just met him and he already asked me out. Although I did accept, it was really just unpredictable.
I came onto my house, unlocked the door, and went inside. I checked the time. Right now it was 5:36, wait, now it's 5:37. I have to be at practice at 6 o'clock. Usually, we would just stay after school, but we got some free time thanks to the mowing company.
I go upstairs to get ready. I pull my hair into a tight ponytail. I've always loved my hair. It was dark brown and sun kissed at the ends. I got it done like that for my 14th birthday. I wouldn't stop bothering my mom about it and she finally did it. Yay persistence!
Next, I put on my uniform. It's a purple uniform. with yellow tracing around the waist, rim of the skirt and wraps around the long sleeve arm. On the chest ,in bright yellow capital letters, it says 'RAIDERS'. I pit on my white cheer shoes and my pack a Raiders t-shirt, a pair of pre-ripped jeans, and combat boots in my gym bag.
It's now 5:52. I have 8 minutes to get to school to go to practice. I grab the key to my car and was on my way.

"GIVE ME AN 'R'! GIVE ME A 'A'! GIVE ME A 'I'! GIVE ME A 'D'! GIVE ME A 'E'! GIVE ME A 'R'! GIVE ME A 'S'! R-A-I-D-E-R-S! RAIDERS ARE THE VERY BEST! GOOO RAIDERS!" We all cheered and some of the girl did back flips and chart wheels through the green grass. The mowing company did really good this year. I haven't seen anything so green since I had the flu.
"Okay girls, Good job! And Great job on the pyramid today. We'll totally nail half time tonight. Now go in the locker rooms and freshen up.", Coach Riley commented. She always praised us before a game to keep our spirits up.
We all made our way to the girls locker room, in your average every day loud manner.
"Hey Kenzie", one of our cheer leaders, Alejandra Martinez, yelled over to Kenzie. "Did you and Nolan get enough time for your make-out session before the game." Everyone laughed at Kenzie's blushed face and they laughed even harder when she replied,
"Yep! And it was better than ever!"
"Those to a nearly inseparable. You should have seen them earlier today. He could wait for me to leave to get his hand on you." I replied. Laughter from the girls. Blushing from Kenzie.
"How hard do you think we are going to beat those Pickerington Bitches?" , Cassie asked us with her small voice. She was never loud unless she was cheering on the field.
Kabria smiled one of those devious smiles that all cheerleaders should have, weather they are mean or not. "I know we are gonna win. We don't have to worry about that. What we do need to worry about is if a certain someone starts a fight." She pointed over to Kiki.
Kiki was known as ratchet. And unless you were her friend, you shouldn't call her that unless you wanted to start a fight. And loose. Kabria can fight too,but she's not as eager as Kiki . One time they even tag teamed on a girl who called Kiki's weave nasty.
"Hey! I don't just start fights here and there. If they mess with me, they just should know that they're gonna get their ass beat.", Kiki responded.
It was a good thing I was friends with her. We met when I bumped into a girl at lunch and all of her food spilled on me. Everyone laughed and thought it was funny. Not Kiki. She threatened to cut out everyone's tongue if they kept laughing.
After a little while, Couch came into the locker room to tell us that it was time to come out because the football players were falling in. Of course Kenzie started freaking out because she gets to see her babe Nolan.
We walked out there listening to the marching band playing and the voices of incoming people. As soon as we were spotted the crowd went wild. Aren't we just adored. We wave to the crowd, smile, and give kisses on top of the heads of babies (kidding).
The Reynoldsburg crowd went quiet when the Pickerington Bitches started to fall in. Their crowd was jumping up and and down to the stands along with their....tiger mascot? What the fu-
"Hey Em", Cassie tapped me on my shoulder. "Since when did they have a mascot?"
"I don't know. But I bet ours is still better.", I replied.
Just then, our crowd started cheering loudly for our mascot Rocky the Raider. He was doing flips and kicks. And for our personal enjoyment, he even motioned to snap the tigers neck.
"Ladies and Gentlemen", the speakers boomed. "Here are you Reynoldsburg Raiders! "
The Football players ran out onto the field, waving to the crowd. They loved being adored. But the admiration had to stop for now. Its okay, though because when we win they will get a lot of admiration.
One football player in particular waved and smiled as he was heading my way. It was him. It was that jackass who broke my heart. It was Austin Kyde. He was supposed to be my first true love. Until he did something that broke me.
I saw him coming and couldn't move. All I could was watch that handsome face that loved so much. Luckily my friends got in the way of him. Before he could even reach me, Kabria and Kiki stepped in front of me blocking him from even reaching me. He tried to go around them, but they blocked him away from me again. All I could do was look at my plain white cheer shoes. I peeked up and I could see him staring at me with longing eyes as he walked away.
"Are you alright, chika?", Alejandra asked me worriedly.
Yeah, I'm fine", I lied. I was feeling terrible. I felt like throwing up on someone; maybe Austin. I know that I should be over him by now. I dated several guys after what happened with him, but it didn't feel the same. I just felt like I only needed him. "Now let's get ready
"And now let's get ready to play and see who the winner of the Homecomming Game is."
And as Claudius Templesmith said in the hunger games,"Let the games begin!"
Okay quick foot note. The Pickerington school I am using is Pickerington Central In Ohio. If you look on Wikipedia, you will see that their colors are NOT blue and white. It is true. I need to use different colors because they were too close to Reynoldsburg colors and I needed to change one. The real colors are PURPLE AND WHITE. If you do go to this school and are offended, I am very sorry. Thanks for reading.
