A ghostly moan came from within the sarcophagus as the lid slid open a crack. Venom to my ears, a chilling rattle came from within. The lid continued to open, gold grating gold, and I I raised my phone towards the coffin and hit return.
"My name in Vinke Ronchetto. This may be the last words I say. I've done something terrible." I gulped. "While in this hidden tomb, I discovered a mathematical relationship and that Egyptians once used the same math symbols as us. Hard to believe, I know. Well—it's true."
Clawed fingers clenched the lid and threw if off, denting the gold as it smacked against the wall. A hissing loudened as a reptilian head rose from the grave. Eyes slit like black moons and a lashing tongue that snapped out in my direction struck fear into me. But the twisted body, half alive and half wavering in semi-translucence paralyzed me, constricting my lungs. Uncoiling from its burial, the snake pharaoh slunk from its crypt.
Death poured from the prison, evil releasing to roam the chamber, the magical tail of smoke whipping into the mega stones of the walls where the serpent existed in a manner I failed to comprehend. The thing must've measured ten meters from head-to-tail and it did not look happy to see me despite the fact that I had released it.
"My wrath upon all humansssss for imprisssssoning me. Death to all."
Its eyes singed me as the serpent pharaoh bore down to gaze into my soul. My body quivered when the rattle came in front of me, the tip opaque and deathly real.
An exquisite weapon, sharp edges of serration ran the length of the meter-long natural blade. This is not happening! It shook and rattled then skewered my body in a pounding thrust, injecting me with a fluid that made my heart race. Poison!
Pain surged through my every vein. I dropped the phone but it kept recording, lens pointed at me as I fell to my knees.
"Beware. The devil is loosed. If anyone gets my message... run! Its's coming!"
The video recorded my last breath while filming the serpent as it crept and wound up and out the pyramid. Free to unleash its wrath upon humanity, the demon slithered from its cell.
