Song For This Chapter: Kathleen by Catfish and the BottlemenCaoimhe's POV
I got in my new school in Cheshire. A private school actually, I literally have no idea how my dad got his money to pay 12,000 pounds for my year. My dad actually got a new job but I don't know whether his profit is enough for this school. Look, I know I sound dumb but I literally have no idea what my parents are currently doing right now. My mam is probably in France doing some stuffs that I dont know about. My dad is probably in London doing some business stuffs that I also dont know about. I usually just arrive at home with my brother drinking his tea while reading a book and I usually just see my mam and dad during weekends but anyways I'm used to it.
So let's go back to The King's School in Macclesfield. I passed through the school hallways and I saw girls talking to their group of friends. This isn't the school I am used to back in Cork.
In Cork, everyone talks to each other, some people gets bullied. Here, no one gets bullied but people only talks to their group of friends and that is... weird. Also, can I just say that most people here are blondies.
"Watch your steps!" A girl with a pony tail screamed at me with her posh british accent ofcourse. I guess I have to get used with the accent too. I looked down and saw I have stepped on her expensive shoes "Oh um sorry" I quickly said embarassed.
After a minute of walking, I eventually arrived in my first period classroom which is Homeroom.
I decided to sit beside the nerdy girl since she seems alright compared to 99% of the girls in this school. "I saw you stepping the foot of Kate wow, everyone always wanted to do that" the nerdy girl laughed "What are you talking about? Is she like the mean girl in this place because I didnt do that on purpose, it was just an accident and-" the nerdy girl cut me off by saying 'shh'. I gave her a confusing look and she started talking "You aren't from here? You're irish, that's mad!" she said
"You're literally the first irish person in this school, No irish could ever afford to study in this school" she said as she took a notebook from her lap and a ballpen from her pocket. "What's your name?" she asked "Caoimhe.." she told me to continue "Caoimhe Marsh" I said and I saw she started to spell my name as Kiva. I coughed and said "Um it's not spelled that way"
She looked at me in confusion but then decided to give me her pen and her notebook. I crossed out Kiva and replaced it with Caoimhe. "That's mad" she said "Okay everyone, so this is our first homeroom meeting" Everyone stayed quiet as our Homeroom teacher started talking.
"We aren't gonna do something for the next few hours, instead, YOU are gonna choose a club" She started giving out papers to us and I saw lists of different clubs "When you finally decided which club you wanna join, you will instantly go to the designated place"
I saw 300 clubs and I am already mindblown with this expensive ass school. "Um .." I was trying to talk with the nerdy girl but I realized I still don't know her name. "Uh, what's your name?" I awkwardly asked and she replied "Just call me Zel"
"Okay Zel, um which club are you gonna join?' I asked "Music obviously because it means my boyfriend is gonna teach me how to play the guitar" she chuckled " Wait, so during club hours, we are gonna get mixed up with the boy's division?" I asked again "Yeah.. many girls here usually chooses the sporty ones like football so that they could see their crushes or something" she rolled her eyes and encircled the Performance Arts and Music on her sheet "I suggest you do the same" she said "Is it okay if I only play the guitar?" I asked and she sighed "Yes ofcourse, the purpose of this club is to teach students instruments and to meet people with the same interests as you"
I nodded in reply and encircled the Performance Arts & Music in my sheet. "Let's go!" Zel excitingly said as we both stood up from our chairs and gave both of our sheets to our Homeroom teacher. She instantly gave us a small paper which kinda looks like a ticket that has a stamp on it "Okay you guys can go" the homeroom teacher said.
Zel grabbed my hand and we both ran on our way to the music room. As we arrived there, Zel instantly pulled away from me and hugged a guy whom I assume her boyfriend "Oh um hey, this is Caoimhe, she's new here and Caoimhe this is George, my boyfriend" We both shook hands and smiled at each other "You brought her here?" George asked Zel "Yeah she seems like the type of person that likes music, Hey! Caoimhe, don't you like music?" she asked and I just laughed at her "Caoimhe, can you atleast speak, I wanna hear your accent" Zel said and I sighed "I have nothing to talk about"
"She's irish" Zel told George and George just laughed "That's cool I love irish people"
"Believe me you don't, all they do is go out with the lads and get drunk" I said "Where's Blake?" Zel asked. I decided to ignore them having their boyfriend & girlfriend convo as I took an electric guitar beside me and started playing the riff from the intro of Oh Well by Fleetwood Mac.
"Woah what was that Caoimhe" Zel was shocked including George. "I used to enjoy rock music few years ago" I shrugged as I started playing a different song. The music room started to fill up with some students til the teacher in charge announced that there's only one lot left.
"George. I am sorry I got late!" some dark haired guy came in the room gasping for air "I guess we're all complete" the teacher in charge said while smiling.
