A soft familiar tune plays through a phone speaker, on low volume it sounds somewhat ominous but perfectly enthralling.
Music like this feels like it should be played in a concert hall, it makes you feel sleepy and yet wide awake.
Music like this sends shivers down your spine and thoughts and feelings coursing through your mind.
It makes you sad but also happy, reminding you of childhood and your favourite sweets.
Locked in a perfect reverie, it reminds you of days spent in comfort, wrapped tightly in a carers embrace.
Nothing can beat feelings like this; music like this.
You feel like you could listen forever.
But like all things, it stops and your memories fade.
You feel somewhat shaken, how can one song do this to you?
You smile as you press repeat, does it really matter?

شِعرI still find it hard to sleep, am I too hungry and need to eat? I lay here, tossing and turning. What is my heart yearning? I switch on the light and begin to write, perhaps words will put me to sleep tonight... [More original poems by me]
