14 - we're forever

EMMA'S POV

Great. Just great. My parents know I'm a murderer! I killed a person! I actually killed someone! Oh for the love of god! I'm going to go to jail and my life will go down the drain.

I'm currently pacing around the field wondering how much time I have before I'm dragged into a freaking police car and thrown behind bars. Delusional, right? Nope I actually killed someone.

Max Patterson.

"Crap!" I yell kicking at the grass. Lost on thought I Suddenly feel my phone rings from my pocket and the second I see the caller ID I pick up.

"Good morning this is Gilrid local hospital. We're here about KY Patterson?"

"Yes, I'm Emma his... girlfriend." I say the word making me smile.

"Yes KY is in stable condition and he will be ok. He has asked us to ask you if you could come visit?"

"Of course! I'm on my way, thank you so much!" I'm so happy I totally forgot about me possibly going to freaking jail.

I run as fast as my legs can go to find Jace and Bianca.

Searching around camp I try to spot the -what I call- Biancace ship. I'm so bad. I spot them on the swings. Jace is sitting down and Bianca is straddled in his lap and they're going at it. I'm forced to look away or I'm pretty sure I would have puked then and there.

Covering my eyes I start to walk towards them.

"You done?" I ask as I near them.

"Oh my god Emma! I'm sorry! Yea we're good." She stutters and I can't help but laugh at them.

"I'm going to go and visit KY at the hospital you wanna join me?" I ask trying not to burst from joy.

"Obviously you little twat!" Jace says as he ruffles Bianca's hair.

"Please hurry up then!" I add over my shoulder running to my car. Bianca and Jace hot on my heels.

"Did I tell you I have another brother?"

"What?" Bianca shouts.

"Yeah my parents aren't dead and I have a younger brother who before he knew who I was tried asking me out. Ohh 14 year olds." I laugh and realize nobody is listening to me and they're is a pretty heated Make out session in the back of my car. Oh wonderful.

We get to the hospital but surely enough he's passed out. I sit out in the waiting room, waiting for them to let me see him.

Jace went to  fetch me and Bianca some coffee while Bianca is holding me in a tight embrace and whispering in my ear.

"You're ok... you are going to be ok Emmie... just breath..." oh that's right I've forgotten how to breath. I exhale and I take a sharp breath. But the time I realize that it's too late to stop the tears.

"Miss Hastings?" Calls out a nurse from the main desk. I stand up on my shaky legs and walk towards the room. I let out a slight hiccup when I see him.

KY is hooked up to a bunch of machines and is still passed out.

I take a seat next to him and sing quietly.

"Close you're eyes and give me your hand baby, do you feel my heart beating so you feel the same? Do you understand?"

"Am I only dreaming, or is this burning an eternal flame. Say my name."

"Sunshine's through the rain, whole life so lonely and you come and ease the pain."

"I don't want to lose this feeling. Is this burning an eternal flame..." I finish and hold back tears.

"You sound like an angel." I hear a soft voice say. Suddenly the tears come on their own, flowing down my face.

"KY--" i choke out.

"I love you. You know that?" He asks his voice thick with emotion.

"I love you too." I say back.

And that's how the trip to the hospital went.

We're getting out of the car and Jace is helping KY walk to the trailer. I walk to his other side and entwine our fingers together, supporting him.

Limping he makes his way to a lawn chair and sits down extending his legs.

"Emma! Where's the--" My mom starts to say before she sees me squatting next to KY and rushes over to us.

"Oh my god, HI! I'm Emma's mom!" She gushes taking in his appearance.

"He's very handsome!" She whispers in my ear a little to loud causing me to redden like a tomato and KY gives out a laugh.

"Thanks mom." I say back sarcastically .

Soon after me and KY are left alone. And that's when I finally break the silence.

"I missed you." I whisper so he can barely hear me.

"I missed you too." He says smiling. I walk over to him and slowly sink into his lap making sure to not hurt him. I gingerly lift his bandage like they instructed me to, to check how the healing is doing.

Wrapping it back up I lean in to him warmth and kiss his shoulder. I can tell he is smiling by the way his neck muscles are on edge.

"Come on Emma!" Jace says sounding aggravated. "This is a great opportunity for you!"

I stare at him as if he's lost his mind.

"What makes you think that I'm about to sing in front of 300 people?!" I scream at him.

"Come on! It's not that many plus it will help you get over your stage fright?" He asks the end sounding more like a question than a statement.

"FINE!" I ye all and leave him with a smile plastered across his face.

You just want attention, you don't want my heart. You're just making sure I'm never getting over you. Over you-o-o-ohhh." I sing ending my performance.

The crowd erupts! Literally! There is not one person who isn't on their feet. And KY is looking at me like I don't even know and it makes me want to cry.

After the show I meet up with everyone getting a ton of "you were amazing's" and "you have a lovely voice's".

At one point KY pulls me away from the others and walks me to the beach.

My feet sink into the sand and he spins me around so that I'm facing him.

He sinks to one knee and my breath stops. He laughs at my panic attack and continues.

"This is not a proposal it's a promise." He says his eyes shining. "I love you and I want you to know that forever!" He says slipping a thin gold ring on my ring finger. In the centre was a little diamond. It was tiny yet just right. KY looked at me and   Smiled.

"Cause baby we're forever." He whispers in my neck and kisses me sealing his promise forever.
