6 - sunset kisses

EMMA'S POV

It's day three. And today we're going on a hike. I hate hikes. HATE.

Ok maybe it's a love hate relationship. Something's they're easy and nice and sometimes they're plain torture.

We head off through the trees the sun lighting me up completely. I felt KY's gaze burning a hole thought the side of my head.

I ignore it and keep walking.

"Hey Bianca, is KY looking at me?" I ask her quietly.

She turns around at finds him talking to Derek.

"No." She replied noticing my disappointment.

I turn around on my heel and keep waking. My feet slide on the rocks as I try mounting the steep slope. My legs threaten to fall from beneath me but Jace catches me from behind.

"Wow. Thanks." I say not believing I was just about to fall down a mountain.

"No problem." Jace was a handsome young guy with blue eyes and has black hair. He had very pale skin and and a strong muscular body. He was good looking but I couldn't compare him to KY. KY's brown hair and piercing green eyes were so stunning you couldn't not look at them.

Bianca let out a snort of disgust as she yanked me out of Jace's arms. I gave Jace a small smile and kept going with my arm hooked through Bianca's.

"Why do you hate Jace so much?" I asked her, truly curious.

"He's just as bad as KY!" She whispered in my ear. I was confused but let go of the thought.

When we stoped for lunch I took out my phone to take a few pictures of the breathtaking view.

"Boo!" Someone shouted behind me and scared the life out of me. It wasn't a surprise as to who it was.

"I hate you!" I scream at his face, and those three words seem to actually pain him. Then questioning wether I should kick him in the you-know-where spot I decided to slap him.

My small hand print imprinted on his slightly tanned face and he gazed at me in shock. I was about to do it again but he grabbed my hand and pinned it behind me giving me an intense look. His face was way too close for comfort. I relaxed my hands and he let go.

"You have issues!" I mutter under my breath.

"Says you!" He calls over his shoulder with a smug grin.

I roll my eyes and sit back down to finish my lunch. Bianca has been eyeballing our whole conversation with a huge grin plastered across her face.

"He got roasted!" She laughed at my shocked expression.

"Whatever..." I mumble blushing.

"Ok kids, gather you stuff. We are going to pair you up with a partner. The duo's will be one girl one boy."

I groan and see that Bianca is making the same effort not to object. I see KY looking over at me and Bianca and whispers to Jace.

Alice comes over to us.

"Emma you will be paired with KY and Bianca with Jace. We are paring you together so you get over your differences and stop wanting the other to die." She says giving the two of us a knowing smile.

I head over to KY and see the amused glint in his eye. I can't help but smile and step on his foot. He winces but goes back to normal in a matter of seconds.

"You will now be exploring the mountain with your partner for the next 45 minutes!" Erin shouts as the groups start to separate.

I follow KY's lead as he heads down a rocky slope and into what looks like a stone cave.

I look around the cave. It's not too big. About the size of a large bathroom and has a hole in the wall that allows us to watch the sunset.

I turn to look at him, and all that comes out of my lips is,

"wow..." I say breathlessly. It's beautiful!"

He looks into my eyes.

"Just like you..." he whispers. Suddenly all my hate for him somehow dissolves. And it hits me. I really do like him.

He hesitates a bit before pulling me up against him and lowering his lips to mine.

The heat of his body engulfs me into the moment. For a second I don't know how to react, but relaxing I run my hand through his ruffled hair and kiss him back.

He pulls me closer deepening the kiss.

Pulling away I Look at his tired and caring eyes. Lifting my hand up he flinches thinking I'm about to slap him.

"Idiot!" I mutter and he rolls his eyes. I wipe the lipgloss of his lips and give him a smile.

I don't know what I just did... But I don't regret doing it...

KY'S POV

I start down the slope and hope that she's following. I walk in what I call sunset cave.

I turn to look at her awestruck face and for a moment I wondered if I did the right thing.

She seems dazed for a moment and finally let's out the breath she's been holding.

"wow..." she says quietly "it's beautiful!"

I hesitate wondering if I should say it but it seems like the right time.

"Just like you..." I whisper pulling her up against me and lowering my lips to meet hers. For a moment she seems surprised and then after pleased. She runs he hand through my hair making electricity surge through my body.

She kisses me back intensely and I pull her closer deepening the kiss.

Suddenly the warmth of her body fades away and I realize she broke the kiss.

She looks at me and lifts her hand up. I flinch away.

"Idiot!" She whispers under her breath while I roll my eyes. She wipes her lipgloss off my lips with her thumb and gives a smile that makes me wanna kiss her all over again.

She looks at me and pulls me back in. This time her kiss is soft and gentle.

I smile under the kiss. Slightly biting her lip and she pulls away again. her breath fans my face and she leaves me standing alone in the red light from the sunset.

I don't know what to say except I'm a goner.
