I finally entered my dorm and took off my armor. I decided to train for a bit until studying up some books.
I yelped as I heard a knock come from my dorm door. My ears and tail had stuck out when I jumped, so I had to put them away again. I went to my closet and put my staff away.
I went up to the door, keeping a hand on the door in case it was a pranker. It was Ava and Robin.
"Oh um…hi! Er......come in." Great job, Wren. The two walked in. Robin sat in a beanbag chair while Ava sat in my desk chair.
I went to sit on my bed.
"You never got to finish what you said earlier. It kinda stuck with me." Robin scratched the back of his neck.
"Yeah, it's been jogging my brain all right." Ava said.
"Huh? Oh y-yeah! Um, well I was trying to say that if you guys do end up talking to me, it's best to not do it in public. You see, I'm kinda hated by just about everyone in my year so I don't want to see you guys hurt because of it."
"What?! But I think your really cool!" Robin said, making me flush a bit.
"Yeah, it pretty lame if everyone doesn't interact with you." I look towards Ava, who was fidgeting in her seat as my chest plate was on the desk, poking her shoulder.
"Hold up, I'll put that away." I took it and opened my closet, forgetting about the staff in there as it fell on top of me.
Robin and Ava rushed towards me.
"Are you ok?" Robin asked me. I just nodded.
"Y-yeah...." I stood up, taller than the both of them.
"Huh, is this your weapon of choice? Weird....." Ava held my staff in her hands, examining it. I snatched it and shoved it back into my closet.
"NO! I mean n-no it's not. It's a baton. For relay races y'know?" My face felt like it was on fire. Ava and Robin looked at me strangely. A little notification beep interrupted the silence.
"Hey Robin, just got a text from the knights, they want us back soon." Ava looked down at her tablet.
"Aww man, well thanks for having us over, Wren! See you tomorrow." Robin smiled and walked out.
"B-bye!" I gave a small nod and closed the door. That was a little too close for comfort. I'll just go to the training grounds to get my mind off this.

(Robin's POV)
"Hey, Ava? Do you think Wren is hiding something?" We were back in the Fortrex, I was fixing up the knight's vehicles while Ava sat at the computer system.
"Well, obviously. We did put him on the spot."
"You mean you did." I frowned and pointed my wrench at her.
"Yeah, yeah. He does seem pretty chill though."

A few weeks went by and our friendship with Wren grew more by the second. He seemed to be slowly coming out of his shell the more he hung out with us.
We were just talking to him about the knights.
"And then Lance is always slacking off and he somehow always gets away with it." I tell him. Wren gave out a small chuckle.
"He always thinks he can get away with anything since he's so popular with girls." Wren smirked,"Well I'm going to be heading out to the training yard, see you later!" Wren ran out the doors.
"We're following him aren't we?" Ava sighed.
"Yup." We went outside and saw Wren using his staff to fight a robot mech. He swept left, right, left again.
Dodging every move, Wren landed blow after blow, almost as if he was a blur. Wren then used his staff to sweep the mech off its feet.
The robot inside shattered his teeth in fear as Wren held his staff at the robot's chest with a helmet in hand.
"That. Was. Amazing!" I shouted to him.
Wren yelped and stumbled backwards dropping the helmet on his foot and his staff made him do a weird twist on his foot as he fell backwards onto the hard floor.
"Heh....sorry." I went to help him up. He placed his feet down and then winced as he pulled his left foot up.
"Did you break something?" Ava asked with concern in her voice.
"I probably sprained it or something...." Wren murmured.
"I'll call the knights." Ava said.
