The start - time and the True question

The first thing that set apart Mahabharatha by the Chopras was the way the narration was presented. Time itself saying or narrating the story and the essence or moral. A turning wheel and a sage like silhouette with a sort of bell chime and suitable mystic feel BGM.

Starting with Emperor Bharatha and his decision to not put his sons as his successors and talking about the dharma as king being different than that of father. That his subjects and people are also his children and for his love as father to abandon his subjects is adharma. That is not the start but the essence or fundamental justice expected of and from a king.

That duty is more important than relations, responsibility than personal needs is what it tries to tell and how Shantanu and Bhishma and Dhritharashtra and Satyawati and Duryodhana fail in that is what it is all about. Ambition, selfish needs are over ruling duty and responsibility, ego and emotions over justice and values.

Something which many serials or movies which touched the Mahabharatha topic could never justify. The question of Duryodhana which tormented me personally and as per the laws of modern world was very pertinent. This Mahabharatha started by paving the seed for the question and answer on the first episode.

The Questions

How can the elder brother's blood born son be disinherited for a no relation son of younger brother. Dhritharashtra and Duryodhana felt cheated. Dhritharashtra's complexes and dreams fed and fueled Duryodhana. The whole Mahabhratha was around that was what I thought?

In modern world DNA and blood test Duryodhana only can inherit :) But in the world of dharma than janma or birth overruled by justice of true essence of justice or worth.

The inheritor has to be a just and sound ruler. Duryodhana or Dhritharashtra were not sound of physical, mental and spiritual frame.

In today's world a capable person disinherited for a special ability is injustice but when Vidura says about not fully capable physically person is not suited to be king as per shastra it has to be accepted.

So the question was was all rules and laws right? That was the question. Because it was done and said by old and learned of the old is it always right? Was it just?

WHY NOT QUESTION IT?

Duryodhana questioned. He questioned the so called shastra and parampara the customs and so called systems and rules. But he did it with hatred and blinded with his hatred and feeling of injustice his actions were wrong. A reasonable and otherwise good human became evil. His actions became adharma or injustice and cruel.

The true question to be asked- is birth and abilities or disabilities alone the right factor for decisions on giving responsible roles?

The next question - is sacrifice dharma or justice dharma?
