"Beauty is mysterious as well as terrible"

Chapter Eight: Crazy

Monday morning came with a bang due to another murder. This time it's young girl named Jocelyn at natagpuan ang katawan nya floating by the Thampton River.

The morning news didn't highlight it much though because ang dami naman talagang crimes na laganap dito. This is a big city after all. But it was connected to Meriam and Bea's murder. Wala pa ring further news about sa case ng dalawa.

I remembered the comment about The Crimson Curse.

Kung sino man 'yon, he/she knows something na hindi alam ng iba.

Hindi naman ako usually nanunuod ng news but when I do, ito naman ang madadatnan ko. The new murder got me creeped out kasi puro teen girls na halos ka-age ko pa. The locals advised na mag ingat daw ang mga babae until they get to the bottom of it all.

Worst case scenario? There might be a killer on the lose.

"Tinatakot mo lang ang sarili mo," Lyndon gave me a sideway glance as I scroll through news articles on my phone. Ito na siguro ang time na pinaka active ako sa social media. Someone give me a medal!

Brandon nudged my foot with a cheeky smile. "Since you're very much into that news, papayag ka siguro kung bibigyan ka namin ng body guards."

Damon, who was sitting next to him, smirked.

"Like Lyndon isn't enough?" I scoffed.

"Lynd is crappy at watching you." Damon said which Lyndon retorted with an offended "Hey!".

"I know her every move," Lyndon grumbled back defensively.

"No you don't" Kasi kung oo hindi ako makakatakas ng bahay. And I've done that a handful of times like a pro.

Tinignan ko ulit si Brandon. "I don't want anyone breathing down my neck wherever I go dahil lang balitang 'to. Apat ang Kuya ko and that's enough."

My older brothers nodded, getting my point.

Salamat naman.

When the limo stopped at NTEA, I gave them both a kiss and got out with Lyndon and Kayla following me.

We did our usual routine for our morning classes. The vibe was pretty mellow today hindi ko alam kung paano nila nagawa iyon when Empire's Freedom is booming according to Kayla when we met before lunch.

Most of the students are freaked out by the murder of Jocelyn but others are quite curious and wanted to get to the bottom of it na para bang walang nag iimbestigang professionals ngayon. Knowing some of them baka nag hire sila ng sarili nilang team to investigate.

Narinig ko na rin mag react ng medyo OA ang mga babae sa isang klase ko because teenage girls daw inaatake ng "Killer".

I bit my lip as I tried to remember that one comment about The Crimson Curse.

Tinignan ko kung may mag co-comment about it sa mga bagong articles na naka publish ngayon but there were none. Most of the students are convinced the suspect might be a murderer on the lose.

There's a high chance na NTEA student rin ang nag comment noon since he/she has access to the website.

And according to what I remember meron ding mga nag agree sa kanya. That means The Crimson Curse might be widely known here in our school but why doesn't students talk about it now?

"Don't get too curious," Lyndon said, getting my attention. "You're getting yourself in trouble."

Unti-unti kong binaba ang phone ko dahil sa sinabi niya. Si Lyndon talaga ang taong ayaw mag delve sa mga nangyayari sa mundo. He has his own world and protects his own personal bubble. Kaya wala siyang paki alam sa mga murders. He doesn't even have a teeny tiny hint of curiosity on his face. He simply doesn't care whatever happens around him which was kind of fascinating to me. Sana ganon din ako.
