Chapter 2

Grace POV

Today was the day Lexi was returning to school. I was really nervous and I didn't want to go to school. My mom came into my room to wake me up, but I was already awake.

"Cmon, sweetie. Time for school", Mom said as she tried to shake me awake.

"I'm sick", I replied as I tried to fake cough. She felt my forehead and looked unconvinced at me.

"Honey, you're not sick. You have to go to school".

"I don't wanna" I whined.

"Get dressed and come into the kitchen for breakfast".

"Please don't make me go", I said as I started to cry.

"Honey, I'm not too crazy about you going, but you can't miss school". I relented and got ready and went to school.

Before math class, Lexi approached me as I was getting out my notebook.

"Hey there little freak", Lexi taunted me.

"Hi, Lexi", I muttered.

"I'm gonna make you regret having me suspended". I ran out of the classroom and into the girl's bathroom. I pulled out my phone and called my mom.

"Mom, please pick me up. Lexi threatened me and I'm really scared", I said crying into the phone once she picked up.

"Okay, honey. I'll be right there. Why don't you wait in the office until I get there?"

"Okay". I hung up and went to the office. Soon my mom arrived.

"Hi sweethart, are you alright?" Mom asked.

"Yeh, I just don't want to be here anymore", I replied.

"Let's talk with your father about your options with school". I nodded and we went home. I started on my homework when the doorbell rang. My mom opened the door.

"Hey Gracie, how are you?" Dad asked me.

"I'm okay. Lexi threatened me. I can't go back there", I said on the verge of tears.

"Are you sure honey? Just a couple weeks ago you said because your friends were there, you didn't want to leave".

"I'm just so scared", I said crying. He pulled me into a hug.

"Okay honey, we can look into some schools for you to go to". We all had some lunch and not long after, my dad left to run some errands and ann interview before the show. My mom's fiancé came in and kissed my mom. He greeted me and I smiled back and said "Hi". I wasn't very close to him and my mom always asked me to give him a chance. I was polite but I didn't really trust him.

"Pip, wants to interview us on monday next week", Steve asked my mom.

"What time is the interview?" Mom asked back.

"4 in the afternoon"

"Sure, I can make it".

"Mom, can you help me with my homework?" I asked.

"Sure, sweetie". After I worked on my homework, we took a cab to my dad's apartment where I was going to spend the next couple weeks. We were riding up broadway when a truck crashed into the taxi. Everything slowly faded to black.

Lin POV

Grace and Pippa were supposed to meet me at my apartment an hour ago. I've tried to called Pippa and Grace several times but I haven't gotten a response. I finally get a call from Pippa.

"Pippa, where are you and Gracie? Is everything okay?" I frantically asked when I answered.

"We were in a taxi on our way when a truck crashed into us", Pippa managed to get out through sobs.

"Oh my gosh, are you guys alright?"

"I just got a couple of scratches but Gracie.." Pippa couldn't finish her sentence as she disolved into tears.

"I'm on my way. Can you text me the name of the hospital?" Pippa replied yes and we hung up. I grabbed my jacket and rushed out the door after telling Vanessa what was going on. I took a taxi to the hospital and rushed through the doors where I found Pippa sitting in a chair with her head in her hands.

"Pippa..." I started to say. She got up and gave me a hug.

"Gracie is with the doctors, they won't let me see her.."Pippa said as she was crying. We sat down in chairs and a few minutes later, a doctor came out.

"Grace Soo-Miranda" the doctor called out. We stood up and walked over to him.

"We're her parents. what's going on?" I asked.

"She's resting. She broke a rib, her wrist, and her left leg. She has a slight concussion. She's recovering and will be all right", the doctor said to us. He told us we could go back and see her. We walked into the room and saw Grace sleeping. Pippa sat in a chair next to the bed and held our daughter's hand.

The next day Grace was free to go and she came with me to my apartment where she laid down for a nap and I went out to the living room and researched more schools for Grace. I hope I can make my baby happy.

A/N: Sorry for the huge delay on the update. I have been crazy busy but I will try to update more regularly. Next chapter will be more fluffy I promise.
