In Azora's dreams, she stalks a winter forest as a white tiger. In her waking world she lives as a human in a tribe that hunts tigers for their luxurious fur. In one of her dreams she is shot by a hunter's arrow and wakes up with a small wound in her shoulder. Parallels begin showing up in her waking world and the world of her dreams, and soon she wonders which reality is the dream. Azora must come to accept both lives and learn what it means to be human and what it means to be a tiger. But can she choose which life to claim as her own?
