4. Eye Contact

Jimin

Jimin brought the lights up full and increased the volume of music. He needed something to try and drown out the weather outside.  He changed the track and began a relaxed practice of a new dance they were learning. It wasn't long before he heard the door open behind him and he watched through the mirror's s reflection as Jungkook returned, falling in step, just to his right.

He felt a moment of guilt as he looked over to his friend. There was obviously something bothering the guy, that resulted in him sleeping in the practice room. But looking at him standing there, wrecked, with messy hair and wearing his hoodie, made Jimin's heart flutter. There was no other way to put it, the guy looked straight up hot.

Jimin tried to shake the thoughts from his head as the pair fell into step to the beat. He needed to be a better friend than that.

"You want to talk about what's bothering you?" Jimin tried, directing his words towards the mirrored reflection.

The reply that came back was a hard 'No' and Jimin knew that tone of Jungkook's. It was not the tone to be pushed or coerced. Instead he just nodded in acceptance and the pair continued to dance in silence. When Jungkook wanted to talk he would be there to listen. 

Thankfully it wasn't long before Kookie's mood began to lighten. Then just a little longer, before a smile returned to his face.

They were back to their usual routine of goofy grins and constant eye contact. Jimin loved it when they were like this. He loved it when Jungkook couldn't seem to drag his eyes away from him. When it was like this, the room could be filled with twenty people, but it would still just feel like the two of them.

Time just disappeared as the two danced, right up until the door behind them flew open, letting a herd of animal's clamber into the room. The band had finally arrived and they seemed particularly chirpy for such an early hour. Much too loud for a place that was peaceful, just minutes before.
