Chapter 4: A new classmate

"Good morning Lord" said Andrew as he just woke up. He went straight to the bathroom, ate breakfast and left for school. As he arrived at school he saw an unfamiliar face. He was wondering if he was just new around here and was going to enroll at this school. When he arrived at class T.Alexander told everyone to settle down. So Andrew went to his seat and greeted Lilith "Good morning Lilith" with a beautiful smile in his face. "Good morning Andrew, you seem to be cheerful today. Did something joyful happen to you this day ?" replied Lilith. Well on Andrew's mind He said "The only joyful thing that happened this morning was seeing you". He really wanted to say that, but if He was to say it, He would be found out. So he replied something out instead "Not really Lilith I just seem to be happy that's all". "Oh ok" replied Lilith. Then T.Alexander said "Ok class, enough of the chattering. Today I would like to introduce to you, your new classmate. He enrolled a bit late than others, but his still a great boy. Ok, please come in". "Hi" the new student said. "My name is Joseph David Afable. I wish to be in good terms with all of you and let's spend a great year together". The whole class welcomed him gladly and showed him his seat. He was placed just behind Thomas, Andrew's best friend. "So now, let's begin our class" said T.Alexander. As T.Alexander had said this he looked over at Lilith and he was confused. Lilith had a shocked and surprised face. It's like she couldn't believe what she just saw. So Andrew leaned over and asked "Lilith what seems to be the problem ?". "It's just that, I can't believe that my childhood friend would be my classmate" said Lilith. "What !" said Andrew in a puzzled face. "He's your childhood friend ?". "See even you can't believe it !" said Lilith. "Oh well then, I guess I can try to befriend him at the least" Andrew responded. "Sure, if you want to" Lilith replied. After their conversation they started class. Their first subject this day was English. They learned about Greek and Latin roots. Everyone enjoyed the lesson and continued on with their next subject. "Yes ! Our last subject is Gym class. We can all have our exercise" said Andrew. Everyone responded excitedly too !, Now as Gym class started they went to the Basketball court. The girls played volleyball on the left side while the boys played basketball on the right side. As the boys were resting after they had played their basketball game, Joseph approached Andrew. He asked Andrew "What's your relationship with Lilith ?, because I saw you guys talking with each other." with a troubled face. "Why do you ask" Andrew responded. "Because if you like Lilith you can't take her because she's mine !" said Joseph in a mad face. "Yeah and if I do like her, why do you say she's yours ?" said Andrew right back at Joseph. " Because I loved her first than you. Your not even friends with Lilith nor do you know a lot about her" Joseph responded straight at Andrew's face. "Even if you loved her first, she still hasn't said she liked you. I still have a chance for Lilith and I to deepen our relationship. You may be her childhood friend and know a lot of things about her, but I've stayed with her for 9 years. I completely understand her, so don't come here blabbering like your the boss !" said Andrew right back at Joseph's face. " You know what, we'll see Andrew. We'll see" Joseph responded and then he walked away. Right after that the bell rang and that means the dismisal of class. So everyone went home and bid farewells to each other.

As Andrew was going home, in his mind He was saying "Who does that Joseph think he is ! Just because He is Lilith's childhood friend he thinks that Lilith belongs to him. What kind of man is He ! Ugh!" So when he arrived at his house he ate dinner, brushed his teeth and said a prayer to God."Lord, I have been very irritated by that new kid Joseph. I was not able to control myself and it wasn't pleasing to you. So please forgive me and next time I'll be kind to him. Protect us always Amen" After this prayer Andrew slept and had a great day.
