Today was the ONE day that I hated the most out of the whole year. The check up with the school nurse. Yes, it sounds normal, I mean everyone gets them, but it was the most abnormal thing for me. The other students always find a way to peak in and steal pictures of me...only because of my tall height yet weak limbs (you could call me the dork). Worst of all, they take my clothes, which I always have to grab a towel from the nurse, and run outside the room, only to see phones flashing.

To make it even worse, my long time crush, Levi Rivaille was there to witness it all. He was the most monotone student I had ever seen, but somehow I had grown to really like him. The way his grey eyes looked upon everyone. Levi was smaller than me, but was 2 years older. I was 14, while he was 16. We had many opposite motives over the years: I'm tall, he's short, I'm a loner, he's one of the most popular kids in the damn place, I was shy, he talked to almost everyone...but me.

My thought brought me back to reality. School was starting in half an hour, but I was already ready.

"Eren c'mon downstairs! I made you some pancakes and eggs and they're gonna get cold." My adopted sister yelled.

"Yeah I'm coming, hold up!" I yelled back.

I grabbed my sneakers and ran down the stairs. I sat down at the table and started eating the food.

"Eren, I know you're scared for today. That's why I brought you some extra clothes in your backpack." She smirked but I shot it down.

"Mikasa, I can do things on my own." I said while chewing my food.

"So you'll take the extra clothes?" Mikasa smiled.

"Yup!" I exclaimed as I washed off my plate.

I grabbed my backpack and put my lunch in there. Mikasa stared at me as I was finishing up my routine. She was always the protective type, and liked to keep a sharp eye on me. It tore her apart when she found out what happened last year and the year before at the nurses station. She always knew that I needed help, and she was there for me. Mikasa is my safe haven, and if it weren't for her, I would probably be in a worse state than what I am right now...and that's pretty pathetic.

Mikasa and I walked to the school to notice that a large group of students were blocking our path. They were all smoking and yelled over each other. They seemed to be sophomores, grade 10. I didn't seem to recognize any of them, which I was happy for.

As me and Mikasa started to get closer, they seemed to disband their group and leave one by one. A stream of smoke was still ignited in the center of the clique. Now that me and Mikasa could pass by, I felt I could breathe a little easier. Just as I thought I was safe, someone grabbed my shoulder and said,

"Where do you think you're going, kid?" A pair of dull, grey eyes stared into mine.
