Confession

By this time, most of them knew that Sungjae is apparently falling in love with his childhood friend and they got no problem with that. But what concerns them is Joy. Joy wasn't the same old cheerful Joy. Even it wasn't that obvious, they knew at some point Joy was effected with Sungjae's lack of attention on hers but she never speak about it. They knew that she understood the situation right now and that's why she's keeping it by herself but it only hurts her more and it only makes them worried.

" Is Sungjae going to be here or not ? " Asks Peniel as he looked around trying to find a glimpse of his face. " I'm not sure. He said he will try to make some time. " It was Ilhoon's turn to wander around hoping that Sungjae will popped out of anywhere. " Should we just leave first ? Eunkwang hyung might be here at anytime and it won't be a surprise anymore. "

Through out their friendship, they got to know about Eunkwang from Sungjae since they likes to hanging out at Sungjae's dad restaurant and it happens to make them clicked with each other with Eunkwang out going personality. They were here at one of the karaoke place to celebrate Eunkwang's birthday and hoping that Sungjae could join them this time.

" Let's just go inside and prepare. Sungjae might be late today since he have to watch Sohyun's violin performance first. Today is the competition day. " Joy muttered as she walks in, leaving the rest in dumbfounded. " I've totally forgot about that. " " Owh, yeah. Didn't he said that he gonna confess to her later on ? " A smacked was felt on Ilhoon's back causing the boy to shriek in pain. " What was that Kim Yerim ?! " " Stop mentioning about those two in front of Joy unnie. " " But she wasn't even here. Wait, why can't I anyway ? " " Boy, you don't know a thing don't you ? " And Yeri walked away, dragging Seulgi with her leaving Ilhoon and Peniel looking at each other in confused. " Did I missed something? " " I don't know man. Girls are way confusing. "

" Yah, hurry up. Eunkwang hyung is downstairs. Changsub hyung just texted me. " Everything were suddenly in chaos, Yeri were still blowing her balloons while Seulgi and Peniel were busy sticking up some alphabet forming Eungkwang's name on the wall. " Yeri-ah, hurry up. " " I'm losing my breath unnie. " Joy decides to help Yeri when she noticed that there's no way the girl gonna finish that alone. She put the cake down and start helping the girl.

It was just on time when Eunkwang is already at the door. Those five who were eagerly waiting inside were trying their best not to make any sound and have the blowouts and noise makers ready on hands. Eunkwang wasn't suspecting anything since the room is quite dark from the outside and just walked in like how he used to. Once he step in, a shout out of ' Happy Birthday ' could be heard and that shocked him badly causing all of them to laugh hard at his comical reactions. " Yahh ! You guys ! What's all of these ? " He was definitely touched but still in shocked.

" Thanks guys. This is the best birthday of my life. Omo, I feel like crying. Ottohkhae ? " " Yah hyung. You're making me wanna slap you. " " Ilhoon-ah, it's my birthday and you can't do anything to me. " He did a merong and that only makes Ilhoon to feel annoyed. " Let's start our party. Who wanna sing first ? " Minhyuk got the mic and hand out to Ilhoon who were dumbfounded for awhile but he took it anyway. " Arasso, let have this party started. " They were enjoying so much as Ilhoon choose to sing New Face and it got heated up as Eungkwang and Changsub decides to join Ilhoon with the dance.

" Joy-ah, where is Sungjae ? " Joy who were focus on Wendy and Seulgi's singing had end up looking at Eunkwang when he mentioned Sungjae's name. " I'm sure he will be here soon oppa. He's kinda busy right now but he promised to be here for your birthday. " " I'm asking not because I want him to be here on my birthday but I'm asking him for you. " " What are you saying oppa ? " " You doesn't seems like enjoying the party as much as when Sungjae is around. " " Ani, I'm having so much fun here. You're seeing wrong. " " Really ? Then why don't you sing a duet with me huh ? I'm bored doing duet with these guys. " " Haha. Fine. Let's sing Rising Sun. " " Yeah, you know how to rock on the mood. " And they did, singing and dancing the choreo just like how DBSK did in their music video but of course Eunkwang have to exaggerated it slightly causing them all to laugh till it hurts their stomach.

Sungjae just stood by the side, waiting for Sohyun to finish up her photography session. Once she was done, she hurriedly walking towards Sungjae with the trophy on hand. " Did you wait long ? " " I'm fine seriously. You should take your time. You should cherish this moment you know. " " I know right. I still can't believe that I won. " " I don't see anyone else deserves that title other than you. " " Yah, you're such a sweet talker. " " Anyway, congrats again. " " You've been saying that since before. " " Anyway, are you free now ? " " I think I am. Why ? " " Wanna go somewhere else ? " " Where ? " " Just follow me. "

Sungjae brought her to one of the famous coffee shops nearby her school just for them to relax since he knew Sohyun might feel tired from her competition earlier. " This is nice. It's so calm in here. " Since it's almost 9 o'clock, not many customer will walk in the cafe and Sohyun like it this way. " You know I was so nervous back there. " " Yeah, I noticed with the way you wouldn't let my hand go. " She was embarrassed when he brought that up. It wasn't her intention to held his hand. She did that out of her conscious. But she did felt that his hand calm her down a bit. " I'm sorry. I didn't realized I held it too long. " " It's alright. I don't mind it either. I feel glad when I can help you with calming your nerves. " " You did. Thanks Sungjae. "

They did a lot of talking that night until the part where Sohyun start to tell him about her plan after graduate. It happens to caught his attention when she decides to apply for a scholarship to join the orchestra. She had a big dream he thought and probably they will fall apart again because of it. He thinks hard whether he should talk about his feelings or not. He was afraid of the consequences but he don't want to feel regret of not able to tell her either.

" Sohyun-ah, what if I say I like you ? What are you gonna do ? " She was flustered for a moment but quickly composed herself. " Do you like me ? " " I said what if ? " " And now I'm asking you. Do you ? " He heaved a sigh before decide to just spill the truth. " I did. I like you. Ever since before I always did. I was afraid that it might affect our friendship but someone tells me that I better face the consequences rather than feeling regret of not letting you know about it. " She took a moment of silence, a bit surprised with his confession. " That person is right. It's better to confess because if not I might think that it was only a one sided love on you Sungjae. He took her back home after that, feeling happy that they officially a couple. It was the greatest moment for him because finally his dream girl becomes his. " I'll see you. Can't wait to tell Joy about this. " Sohyun just giggles at Sungjae's smiling face. " So Joy knew about this ? " " Yeah, she's the one who encourage me to confess. " " I see. Joy is such a great friend. " " She is and she ... wait. " His eyes widen out of sudden remembering that he forgot something. He only remembered it when Joy's name being mentioned. " Great.
