A/N Okay so I know it's a slow start but the story gettings going in the next couple of chapters :) also I haven't like checked the spelling but I will go back and do so soon so please excuse any errors.

Kai's POV

I was pacing back and forth like a caged animal, my boots stomping into the mud around me.

"What is up with you Kai, you've been on edge ever since you left Chanters" Max said raising an eyebrow at me. I ran a hand through my hair.

I had to get it together.

I was gonna get a mate eventually, so why was I freaking out?

"The bonfire is in about twenty minutes. People are starting to arrive" Max said.

I stopped and let out a sigh and then smashed my fist into the bark of the tree next to me. It seemed to relieve the stress going on inside my body. My wolf was going crazy. I wasn't in control.

"Dude, what the fuck?" Max shouted looking at the splintered tree. He looked at my face and I saw it click.

"You've found her" he said his eyes scanning mine. I nodded in defeat and fell onto the log.

"Shit man who? Don't say Kayla man please don't say Kayla the girls a good fuck but not a good mate" Max said. I shook my head at him.

"No." I looked up at him "Blake Trenton" I said.

As soon as I said her name I felt my wolf howl inside and I felt the need to run to find her and make her mine.

"Wait the sassy new girl!" Max jumped up "Dude she is smokin'!!" he said. I instinctively let out a growl that made Max jumped back a few feet.

"And she's mine" I snapped at him without realising.

Max held his hands up to surrender.

"All yours got it boss" Max said.

I placed my hands in my head, it was times like this that I wished I wasn't Alpha.

Alpha's had a different way of finding their mates, normal werewolves would be able to form the mate bond with someone when their wolf decided to make the connection. It could be a random person that you eventually got to know or an old friend that you had known for ages and the feeling for them would change. With Alpha's it was an instant connection. It was because people are destined to be Alpha's and are so destined to have a specific mate. This meant Fate had decided that Blake would be my mate and there was a reason for it.

I smacked my head with hand and stood up, shaking off that irritating whine in the back of my head. I had a meeting. I needed to concentrate on my pack. We had a rogue problem to deal with and it was getting worse.

Max and I headed to the fire pit. Max lit up the fire as the youngsters of my pack arrived. I was a new alpha with a young pack that I had to train up, but new or not my pack respected me and they all shook my hand upon arrival.

I waited eagerly to see her. Eventually I saw her brothers arrive, the twins. They turned up and both shook my hands.

"Where's your sister?" I asked quickly.

"At home with our little brothers" One of the twins said.

"Why?" I asked. They both looked at each other before looking back at me.

"Because she has to look after them" the other one said.

I turned to look at Max.

"Hold the fort" I said before stomping off towards the woodland heading straight for her house. I should shift but I didn't trust my wolf right now so I just ran as fast as I could burning the hunger and energy I felt.
