Naomi- We drive in silence as the sun begins to pass over the sky into a beautiful palette colors of red and orange. "The sky is quite beautiful," I say quietly.

Erushi- 'Not even close to the beauty I see when I look at you.' I want to say. "Isn't it?" I say instead. I  reach up and slide the sunroof cover back so you can look up from there. "When we get there- it will be setting perfectly over the horizon," I say smiling. I glance at you as you look up through the sunroof of the car. 'She's so perfect...' I think. I gently reach for the radio and turn on some quiet music to ease us out of the silence. 'What should I say..?' I think in confusion. I look forward and grip the steering wheel tightly. 'I don't want it to be awkward...'

Naomi- I look back to you as some clouds pass over the sky. I see your white knuckles around the steering wheel and shift. "So- How's the weather up there?" I ask. I hold back a facepalm. 'That was literally the worst way to start a conversation...but what if I get cold?' I think looking at my t-shirt through the side mirror of the car. I watch you shrug and relax gripping the steering wheel less.

Erushi- "It's a little chilly sometimes but I think I have a sweatshirt in the back for you if you get cold." I say kindly grinning slightly. I glance at you as you nod and look back to the street. "I think we'll have fun tonight," I say. 'Ugh that sounds so weird...' To my surprise, you nod as well.

Naomi- "Yeah. It'll be nice to just take a break." I say sighing. "I'm surprised my dad let me go but...after all of this he's been trying to cheer me up," I tell you.

Erushi- "Don't you want to cheer up?" I ask quietly as we begin to drive up a steep hill.

Naomi- "I- yeah I mean of course I do but...I feel like he's forcing it a bit..." I say. "It sounds weird- I mean, I want to be happy...But I don't want to force myself- I want to go back to normal...naturally. I think- well I'm hoping this will help." I mumble.

Erushi- I look ahead sadly and nod. 'I tried my best to make sure Sensai wouldn't be so poorly affected- I've hurt her- No. I did what I must. Soon I'll have her as my own.' I think. "Yeah...me too- You know Naomi...It hurts me to see you like this- I know we haven't known each other for that long but...I'm just so used to seeing you happy it...makes me sad when you're not feeling the best." I say. I swallow realizing how protective that sounded.

Naomi- I smile softly at your comment. "T-thank you-you know for all of this," I tell you quietly. I watch you nod and add a humble "No problem Naomi."

~Time lapse~

Erushi- I pull the car to a small little opening up the trail. I look over and see you've taken a little cat nap. I smile and get out of the car closing the door behind me quietly. I open the trunk and grab two sleeping bags and a blanket. I walk over to the opening and set the sleeping bags down. 'This is going to be perfect.' I think as I jog back to the trunk and grab some pieces of paper. I toss them in the metal firepit and use a lighter to start a humble fire. I unroll the sleeping bags and set my bag full of snacks onto the ground. I look up at the sky and see the sunset ahead. I turn back to the car and open your door. I tap your shoulder. "Hey~" I whisper. I gently push some hair out of your face. "Naomi," I say again. I watch you shift and slowly open your eyes. "Your gonna miss the sunset," I say grinning.

Naomi- I wipe my eyes and smile. "It was just a power nap," I say at your grin. I take your hand as you help me out. I brush off my leggings and walk to the edge of the clearing and look out to the setting sun. "You woke me up just in time," I say turning around and smiling at you.

Erushi- I smile back and dig in my bag. "I know right" I pull out two juice boxes and toss one to you. "They're warm but still good," I say shrugging. I watch you catch it and sit down. I walk up to you and plop beside you sipping on my juice pouch. I glance at you and see the goosebumps on your arms. "Are you cold?" I ask quietly.

Naomi- I shrug as I look out. "-" Before I can speak a cold breeze runs through the trees and I shiver. I nod. "W-what a coincidence," I mutter to you. I smile as I hear you chuckle.

Erushi- I take off my sweatshirt and smile handing it to you. "Here,"  I say as goosebumps travel across my muscular arms.

Naomi- I look at you a little unsure. "I don't want you to get too cold," I say kindly. I watch you shake your head. "I have another in the car." You tell me. I nod and take your sweatshirt as you give it to me. I slip it over my head and push my arms through the sides. I look across back to the sun. "Thank you," I say kindly.

Erushi- I smile. "No problem," I say quietly. I look at your hands which aren't even close to escaping out the sleeves due to how small you are. I smile softly and look back out to the sky. Soon the sun skips down the horizon and disappears. I stand up and stretch. "That was nice," I tell you.

Naomi- I get up and smile. "It was," I say checking the time on my phone. 9:57 I put my phone away and plop down in front of the fire and hold my hands out in front of it, warming up.

Erushi- I watch you. "What time should we hit the hay?" I ask smiling. 'She does look pretty tired...' I think protectively.

Naomi- I shrug. "Whenever really," I say looking into the fire. I shift a little and stretch my arms over my head as the heat from the fire warms me.

Erushi- I blush and bite my lip as your hair falls out of its loose bun and onto your shoulders.I fight the urge to kiss you. I grip the grass and look down composing myself. "S-so...school tomorrow..." I say quietly. "Are you going?" I ask.

Naomi- I nod. "Yeah," I say quietly. "I just hope people don't bombard me with questions like they did when that girl died in freshman year," I mutter. I feel a warm hand on my shoulder. I turn and look at you softly.

Erushi- I look into your perfect eyes. "They won't- not if I have anything to do with it," I say smiling slightly. I see a grin creep across your face.

Naomi- "Thank you." I whisper looking down. I yawn slightly.

Erushi- "Let's get some rest." I offer standing up. I hold out my hand for you and as you take it I help you up to your feet. We walk over to the two sleeping bags side by side and I watch you crawl into yours. I slip into mine and lay the blanket over both of us. 'If only there wasn't part of a sleeping bag blocking me from her.' I think as I watch you get settled in. I smile.

Naomi- I turn so my back is up and I look at the stars. I take a small inhale. "Thank you for this Erushi," I tell you.

Erushi- I look up into the sky with you. "You thank me too much," I tell you chuckling. I clear my throat a bit. "But it's my pleasure," I add. 'It really is...' I smile up as I hear the crickets chirping.

Naomi-I put on the hood of the sweatshirt and turn on my side so I'm facing you and hugging my knees. "Goodnight," I say quietly.

Erushi- "Goodnight Naomi," I say softly as you close your eyes. I watch you as your breathing calms and your body relaxes. I smile as you fall asleep and watch you until my eyes begin to flutter closed. I gently lean forward and kiss your forehead. "I love you," I whisper. As expected, I don't receive an answer from your perfectly sleeping figure.
