Chapter 1: Gone

2 years ago. NOT present day.

My name is Natsu Dragneel. I'm an ordinary boy. Like everyone else I had a best friend. I had a family. I had an ordinary life, in an ordinary town.

Date- Thursday 8th May 2015

It was an ordinary school day. I was walking there in my tight black trousers, a white polo shirt, a blue and white tie hanging down from it. My salmon hair spiked up in all angles as I felt the wind smashing against my face.

"Hey Natsu!" Yelled a girl who suddenly jumped on my back. I turned around and saw a girl with beautiful beach blonde hair, chocolate brown eyes, size 5 feet, and a height of 5'6.

"Hey Luce!" I smiled plainly as we looked into each others eyes just for a second which felt like forever. I sighed. Only if we could stay like this.

"Pinkie! Carry me to school" She pounded her fists on my back telling me to go faster. Just in case you didn't know. At this point she was already on my back. "Hey! It's SALMON! You get it s-a-l-m-o-n." I sounded out each letter so she could get it through her skull.

She just giggled. Awww how cute. As we were just about to enter through the gates I let her down off my back. By now you probably want to know her fully. Well,

Her name is Lucy Heartfilia. Despite her childish personality she is 14 same as me. Oh and I almost forgot she is my best friend and the love of my life. Even though she doesn't know that. Yet.

I was planning on telling her tonight as it's the last day until spring break. Ahh the holidays so lovely and peaceful.

As we walked through we saw our 'squad'. Aka other best friends.

We have:

•Levy McGarden (Bookworm)
•Gajeel Redfox (Metal Head)
•Gray Fullbuster (Ice Queen or Elsa)
•Juvia Lockser (Grays Stalker)
•Erza Scarlett (Satan in it's true form)
•Jellal Fernadez (The tattoo guy)
•Mirajane Strauss (Shipping Demon)

And that's pretty much it.
I love my friends more then anything.

After Maths and English it was Lunch and we were all sat at the lunch table we normally sit at. Until I looked over at Lucy who was a bit more.. sad, upset then usual. She's normally bouncing off the walls.

"What do you all want to be when you grow up?" Lucy suddenly asked out of the blue.
We all looked at her quite confused.
"I wanna be a rock singer" Shouted Gajeel attempting to make it sound he is amazing at singing which he isn't.
"I want to open up my own library" Levy said in excitement. After everyone pretty much said there's we all turned to Lucy and asked her.

"I... don't know yet. Who knows I might not even be here" she said letting out a small chuckle. Confusion was written all over my face. 'Might not even be her?' What kind of answer is that!?

The rest of the day went past really quick. We all separated our ways again traveling home. I walked half the way with Lucy since we live only about 3 streets away. When I got home I did the usual chores. Ate the triple cheese pizza my family ordered from the take away. My phone lost charge during school hours so me being a smart person only decided to charge it up now.

While waiting for it to regain at least 20% I decided to get a quick shower and watch an episode of my favourite show. Adventure time. Yes I know it's a kid show, but you are never too old to watch adventure time. While watching it brought back many memories of me and Lucy as kids.

Playing in the park. Going to the beach. Sleeping under the stars. Then it got me thinking. What if she feels the same way about me. Maybe she does love me?

Just then the flash of my phone came on.

1 New Voicemail: From Luce♡

As soon as I saw it I decided to click on it straight away pulling the phone up to my ear.

"Hello Natsu, it's only me Lucy. I need to tell you something. I think it would be better if you hear it from me. (Suddenly I hear loud cries coming from the other end of the phone) please whatever happens don't hate me. I love you very much. (By this point I was bouncing off the walls. She loves me, yes she loves me.)
But I'm going away for a long time. I don't know if you will see me again. To be honest in my state I hope you won't see me again. Everyone else already knows. It was the hardest thing me saying goodbye to you. (Wetness was spilling from my eyes. I know I was crying. I know she was crying.) I can't bring myself to say why. So I guess this is goodbye. See you later Pinkie. --Silence--

It ended. I ended. Why? My only question. I can't bring myself to say it? She left me. By myself. She doesn't want to see me. I thought she loved me. I thought I loved her. But.

She's gone.
