Chapter 3: Warm Welcome

Present Day!

Lucy's P.O.V

It's been two years since I left Fairy Academy. I'm 17 now and everyone else will be too. Only a few things have changed about me. My hair has grown an extra 2 inches, and I've noticed I got a lot taller.

Today was the day I'd be returning. I'm slightly nervous to see everyone's reactions but I can't wait to see Natsu. Everyday I'd think about him. I always had his number so I could text him but I guess I was too.. scared.

As I entered through the gates I seemed to notice some people I knew and some people I think are new. When I passed through the gate I seemed to of gained a lot of stares especially from one corner of the playground/courtyard.

I seemed to of noticed a girl with scarlett red hair. A boy who only had some trousers on with navy blue hair and I small little girl with aqua blue hair and yellow head band.

That's when I knew who they were mainly because I saw a sheet of pink hair behind them.

"Gray! Erza! Levy! NATSU!" I screamed which made everyone turn around and look at me. As soon as they saw me they ran up and gave me a hug.

Natsu's P.O.V

Me and the gang were in the usual corner talking about random things again. Yet we were interrupted by a high pitch voice shouting some of our names.

"Gray! Erza! Levy! NATSU!" The voice was very familiar to me. I found it kind of strange how my voice was said the longest and the loudest. As we all turned around to see who this person was I froze on the spot.

It's Lucy... My Lucy.

As much as I wanted to run and hug her to death I couldn't. I can't face her again. I watched as the rest of the group ran and hugged her and I could see Lucy looking around for someone in the hug. I noticed how her chocolate happy brown eyes turned sad and alone.

I knew why..

It was me obviously.

I couldn't stand another second so I went inside preparing for the first lesson of the day.

Lucy's P.O.V

As I noticed Natsu wasn't in the hug I felt sad and alone. When I justbdaw him standing there frozen I just wanted to cry. I heard voices saying things like "Lucy I'm so happy you came back" and "Lucy we missed You!" And as much as I wanted to smile I just couldn't.

When I saw him walk away I felt my heart sink and shatter like a piece of broken glass.

When the bell rang I walked with Erza and Gray to my first class. Levy and the others had maths first while I had science.

"So Lucy, how has the past 2 years been" Erza gives a smile to me.
I can't tell them not yet.
"Uhm. It was ok I guess. I'm glad I'm back though."
I give a little weak smile which I think Gray picks up on.
"Why the sad smile Lucy?" He asks. Gray is like a big brother to me so he knows when anything is wrong.

"Is Natsu ok.." I hear 2 sighs escape from the red head and the stripper.
"You were his best friend and the love of his life and you left him. Of course he isn't ok" Erza explains. I didn't realize how much he cared. I didn't know that he loved me also. I feel guilty and rotten inside.

As we walk into class I tell the teacher I'm sort of new and he sits me next to the window at the back while Erza and Gray were both sat at the front.
I noticed the tables fitted 2 people and I was excited to see who my partner would be.

As the people started coming in I saw Natsu walk in with his backpack slung over one shoulder. I noticed how a lot of the girls stared at him and it was obvious that Natsu had became a
'Heart throb' as some people would call it. A heart throb is pretty much someone who every single girl likes.

As I noticed he came closer towards me I knew that he was the person sat next to me. As he got sat in his chair I noticed how close he was to me and managed to study every part of his face which changed. His jaw line was a lot more defined and his nose was a lot more smoother as well as his cheeks.

"Hello" was all I said. I could see that his jaw was tensing up I could sense that he didn't want anything to do with me.

I noticed that a lot in girls in the room were glaring daggers at me. I'm not sure why though.

"Hey best Friend you still alive in there!" I said poking him I  the shoulder. He turned around straight away and said "Your no best friend. Best friends don't leave each other for 2 years. I don't know who you are anymore and I'm glad"

My whole world just came tumbling down. I wanted to sit there and cry but after these past years I don't think I have enough tears left. If only he knew.

It was 3:15 now and the bell just rang signalling it was time for everyone to leave. I put in my earphones and walked towards the gate until I was stopped by 5 girls. 

They seemed to of been carrying baseball bats with them I guess they are on the girls baseball team. I didn't know the school set up one of those I guess I will have to look into it-

Whack.
