Quinn

"Well kids, we hope you'll have a pleasant weekend!" Our mom said. She blew kisses to us and drove the car away into the distance. I turned to my brother. We were finally going to Camp Crystal Lake! I was so excited! We had packed for the whole weekend so, I basically had my bazooka left in Gary's hands. A teenage girl skipped on over and her face lit up. "You must be Quinn and Gary right?" I nodded and she shook our hands. "Jalsa Taylor." She said. She looked to be a African American girl in her late teens. She had put her black hair into a braid that ran down her back. "Well, come on!" She motioned us to our log cabins and settled us in.

I had claimed one of the top bunks while Gary claimed the bottom. He didn't technically have any equipment this time but he still brought a Bible. He always made sure to recite the Lord's Prayer every morning and night. We then headed to a auditorium where there was a puppet show being held. There was one single puppet however that caught my attention. It had a little white hockey mask and wore little blue PJs. It also had a little machete but it was fake. The puppet was called 'Jason Voorhees' but I thought it was best to call it Jason.

After the puppet show, I pleaded to them if I could keep the puppet and even broke open my piggy bank for it. I did manage to get it and during the announcement, I acted as Jason or as I liked to call him, Jason Jr.

"Alright campers! Today, is the best week of the year! It's during the most cursed day in history. Friday the 13th!" A girl said. She looked to be in her late 20s and wore a little straw hat. "My name is Kelii Summers and I am the head camp counselor of Camp Crystal Lake!" She then began to introduce us to most of the staff and listed the multiple activities we would be doing such as sewing, arts and crafts, and swimming practice.

I was excited for this week but I couldn't help but feel something was wrong. Oh wait, I was hungry.
