When I saw my kitten standing in the doorway of the kitchen I froze. But when she dropped to her knees I was confused. Then I realized I had pointed the gun at her and felt guilty. I put my gun away, knowing that the boys had it covered, and slowly walked towards her. When I see her tense and her saying please don't hurt me, it breaks my heart. I crouch down in front of her and grasp her chin to make her look at me. With a firm grasp I bring her face up only to see her clenching her eyes closed. I attempt to coax her eyes open and I think hearing me call her kitten is what made her snap her eyes open. When she gasps it takes everything in me not to full out laugh, she was just so cute. When she looks away from me to look at the men behind me I felt jealous at the loss of her gaze so I gently tightened my grip. She snapped her eyes back to me and I felt myself relax.
"Hey kitten, what's your name?" I say gently. She answers but she spoke so quietly that I didn't make out anything that she said. I pretty sure I had a very confused look upon my face. I look back at the guys to see if they possibly heard what she said but they only shrugged their shoulders. I look back at my kitten and give her a small smile, to calm her down, before asking her to repeat herself a little louder. When she finally gets it out, loud enough that I can hear I can't help but to repeat it to myself. A beautiful name for a beautiful girl is the first thought that goes through my head. When I wiped away her tears I noticed a bruise on her right cheek and it made me so angry I couldn't hold back my expression and scared her. I told the boys to tie her family up to try and find out who had struck her. But I spoke in my native language so she would not be more frightened than she already was. I pick her up and straight to the bathroom as soon as I notice the blood on hers knees, caused by the glass bowl. After sitting my kitten on the sink I start digging around for the first aid kit. When I can't find it I start getting frustrated. But hearing a throat clear and a small voice calms me down immediately, and I spin around.
"Can I ask what you are looking for?"She asks this and all I do to answer is look down to her knees. Only then she seems to realize what had happened. Her eyes start to fill with tears and I pat her head trying to resist pulling her into my arms and never letting go. She shows me where the kit is but when she pulls a key out to unlock where it is I get even more confused. I hold back all my questions and just focus on fixing her knees up. Once she is good as new I pick her back up and take her back downstairs. As we take the last steps into the living room I tighten my hold on her so she doesn't jump out of my arms seeing her family tied up. Suprisingly she doesn't do this. She does however start to shake. I go sit on the couch still holding Anna on my lap and slowly rub my hand up and down her back.
"Ssshhh. Its ok baby, you're ok. We aren't gonna tie you up. You are safe kitten."She looks at me with scared eyes and I just smile and continue rubbing her back until she calms down some. But once she calmed down she started asking questions.
" W-why is my family t-tied up-p?" She stutters out the question just staring at them as they watch me terrified. I give a slight smirk to show how I enjoy their fear. I tighten my grip on her waist, preparing for her to try and bolt when I tell her. I let my gaze fall back on Anna and me eyes soften once again.
