Chapter 1: Into the Night

I drove off into the night. I had no idea where I was going but it was okay once I was getting as far away from Joey as possible. I don't think I ever felt more alone in my entire life.

I decided to go to Hyde Park. It was late and no one would be there. I parked my car and walked into in the grass.It was a cold night and I ran out of the house without my jacket. I wrapped my arms around my body to keep myself warm. I sat on the bench and closed my eyes, listening to the wind blow.

Suddenly, I heard a rustling, as if someone was making their way through the bushes. I opened my eyes and looked around. After a few seconds, I shook it off. Just as I was going to relax again, I felt as if I was being watched.

"W-who's there?" I asked, my voice hoarse from crying.

I heard nothing but some more movement in the bushes in front of me. I hesitantly took a step towards it again asking if anyone was there. I was about to turn away when I saw a pair of emerald green eyes looking at me through the bushes. I started to scream when a guy jumped out of the bushes with his finger on his lips trying to keep me from panicking.

"Shhh!" he said.

I shook my head infear of whatever he was about to do to me.

"I'm sorry, love. Ididn't mean to scare you." he said in an apologetic tone.

"Not trying to scare me? That didn't work out did it?" I said, my voice harsh clearly showing him how pissed I was.

"I'm sorry. I heard someone come in and usually no one comes here at night.... but me." he said. "I was just curious to know who could be coming here so late."

I rubbed my head in relief.

"Ummm, you know what, it's okay." I said.

"Oh, I'm Harry by the way. Harry Styles." said Harry shyly, sticking out my hand.

"I'm Janine." I said, with a small smile, taking his hand and shaking it.

I finally took a real good look at Harry. He was tall, had beautiful brown curls, and the most amazing emerald green eyes I have ever seen. And his smile--- my god, I was breathtaking. He looked quite familiar.

"Wait, aren't you from One Direction?" I asked him.

"Well, yes." he said rubbing the back of his next with a grin on his face.

"Oh, wow." I say, smiling.

"Yeah." he said. "Anyways, why is a girl like you here at the park so late at night?"

Just then, I remembered everything that happened tonight between me and Joey. Tears started to cover my face as I turned around and walked back towards the bench.

"Janine? I'm sorry, did I say something wrong?" asked Harry, worried.

He followed and sat down next to me on the bench. I put my head in my hands.
