Shadowtail's pov.:

'Here they come.' I think calmly from my hiding spot in between two thick green bushes. 'I wonder if they'll actually find me this time.' I muse remembering how they had to send their Terrible Terrors to find me last time we had this training excersise. My ear twitches as they get closer. I can barely hear Hiccup ,my first and best friend, giving orders to the other Viking teens. "...Snotlout take Hookfang an search from the clearing as far as the Cove to see if you find Shadowtail, knowing her she probably has her dragon hiding somewhere more concealed than where she is." I nod, from my hiding spot, approvingly. Earlier I had told Midnight ,in Dragonese, to hide somewhere away from me so she would be safe had this been the real thing not just practice. She had just huffed calling me silly before going to find a different spot to hide. 'I'm just glad they don't see my silver hair.' I think calmly.

Suddenly I hear rustling next to my hiding spot. I tense thinking that they found me. Peeking through the bushes I sigh gently when I only see my own Terror, Softsong. Carefully I say in Dragonese to her. "Softsong I'm suppose to be hiding from the other teens. Please go somewhere else I don't want to be given away." She looks at me before asking. "Why are you the only one that their looking for? Why not someone else?" "Because I'm the best hider an I have an unfair advantage since I can smell where they are." "If you're the best hider shouldn't they be practicing how to hide better?" "True I'll bring it up when they find me which should be right about...now." I say smelling the air. Softsong looks around before giving a soft yelp an flying up a tree grumbling at how I should have given her a better warning.

I give a soft chuckle knowing that Hiccup an Toothless already found me because of Softsong. Suddenly I'm pinned by Toothless an say calmly. "Hey Tooth, hey Hic." "Hey Tail." Hiccup says equally calm in return while Toothless licks my cheek. "I missed you too Toothless." I say in English as the other teens start to file in through the woods. Toothless gets off of me letting me up an I stand before patting the dirt off my tunic an leggings. Only Hiccup knows I can speak Dragonese ,he can too of course but the other teens can't. He hasn't let them know either. Softsong glides down ,from the tree she was in, silently before landing on my head between my black fox ears an crawling down onto my shoulders.

Oh yeah, did I mention that I'm a Starfray, basically I'm a shapeshifter ,but with wings on each form an I keep my ears an tail when in my human form an I can control the basic elements. I'm a 15 year old silver fox Starfray. When I first meet them the other teens didn't trust me, I'm still not entirely sure if they do ,but Hiccup met me when we were little so he did. He actually introduced me to the others. His dad ,Stoick The Vast, approved of me when Hiccup introduced me to him because he knew my family ,before they died, so he knew it would be fine if his son was friends with me. So when Hiccup found Toothless he showed me an told me to keep it a secret especially to his dad. But the other teens need more convincing that I'm on their side. Anyway enough about me, back to the story.

"How come you always seem to find her Hiccup an not us?" Whines Snotlout ,Hiccup's arrogant cousin. "It's just luck Snotlout an I know how she thinks. Plus, Fishlegs found her once." Hiccup says calmly. I just nod before saying calmly. "Plus I've been able to get better at it since I'm always hiding from you guys." Hiccup looks at me before adding. "That is true we never hide it's always Shadowtail. So if you want to know why I'm the one who ever finds her try to think like her. Why she hides like she does." "Right, do any of you besides Hiccup know why I always make Midnight hide in a separate spot than I do?" They shake their heads an Fishlegs says calmly. "Is it because you want her to be safe?" "Partially, yes. But also if I get captured I'll yelp or something so she can come back to you guys an either get help or let you know what happened." "How do you know it'll work?" Asks Tuffnut cockily. " Because we practiced it she always went to Hiccup for help." I awnser as though it's the simplest thing in the world. "Oh...ok." "Why wouldn't you want her to come rescue you herself?" Askes Astrid calmly crossing her arms.
