The next morning, Claire awoke slowly. As the memories of the night before flooded her memory, Claire frowned. Looking over at the male sleeping peacefully beside her, Claire admired her handsome mate.
But as she watched him sleeping, Claire had time to think.
Alpha Tyler said he would give her back to his family once the matter was resolved, but what if he did not?
And surely her father and mother would never approve of her being with Tyler, even if he was her mate. Even Claire, knowing they were mated, was reluctant to be with him, despite her pull to him as her true mate.
And after his kidnapping her?
Even if Claire did not know everything about her father, she did know he would not allow such a crime as kidnaping their daughter to go unavenged. The healing bruises and scars on the alpha's chest and neck were indicators of that. There was no way they would accept him for Claire. Not now. Not ever.
With a sadness in her heart that Claire chose to ignore, Claire crept out of bed and left the room to freshen up.
