Or at least some time around that - your mind had sort of a mental clock you couldn't dispose of.
The feeling of restlessness was burned into your chest.
No one would know if you got out of bed and left. Your parents were there, but at the same time they weren't.
Your parents were easier identified as shadows. That was it; shadows.
Something was dragging you. The need to walk, leave, go outside, or just get out of bed was numbing and overpowering. Like you were possessed, you surrendered to it.
Brushing your covers off, your feet slowly fell to the ground. One shaky step after the other, you managed to make your way across the room. It was dark, but strained moonlight dappled the floor, hinting at a path to take.
Before you knew it, you were standing outside. The world felt like it was spinning, but you started walking.
And you kept walking.
