Faster.

You are now running.

Running for your own good it definitely seemed, running because some person asked you to, but also running at their expense.

Your feet below you became blurry with the sudden pulses and encounters with the ground, only to be pulled up half a second later- then finally kissing the ground again.

You heard a moan escape from behind a wall, unsure of which one. A moan that signaled pain.

You stopped. It wasn't an all at once stop, - it wasn't even an actual physical stop. What it was was a slowly dissipating stop. A gear of compassion turning in your conscience and mind. Every step you took away from the sound became more heavy and remorseful, you had no choice but to pause.

Pivoting your feet, your hands silently dropped to your sides. You began to walk in the exact direction you heard the sound.

Don't fail me now, legs, body, and judgement.
