Part 9

I awoke a few hours later, feeling better from the blood when I noticed Urie sitting next to me. I jumped in shock as I looked at him angrily.  "You woke me" I said crossing my arms.  Urie just kept staring into my eyes without saying a word.  "What are you doing?" I said as I got more angry.  Urie didn't say anything at first then he spoke.  "Ava, your eyes just changed" he said as he looked closer.  I looked at him in confusion.  "Your talking nonsense. How would my eyes change color?"  "Well, vamp eyes change colors" he said thinking of reasons.  Then he gasped as he looked at my neck.  I just looked at him in confusion.  "Urie what are you doing now?" Urie didn't say anything at first.

"Ava, don't fight me" he said as he grabbed my arm.  He pulled me into his arms and made me look into his eyes.  I looked at him confused as he took his gaze to my neck.  Squinting with confusion, he moved my hair behind my neck carefully.  Then his eyes bugged out of his head.  "Oh my gosh" he said as he pulled me into his arms, holding me close to him.  I didn't know if he was crying or not.  His grip was too tight. Quietly, Rem and Lindo came into the room, watching us in confusion.  "Urie, is she alright?"  Rem said as he looked at me.  "Are you alright, Ava?"  I nodded as Urie looked at me, then at Rem.  "Rem, she's been bitten" Urie said through tears.  Rem got confused as he approached closer.  "What do you mean she's bitten?"  Urie backed up so that Rem could get closer.

I watched him as he hovered over me.  I hate it when he did that and he always does it.  It makes me feel smaller than I actually am.  "Let me look" Rem said as he started to lift my hair.  I pushed his hand back and covered the mark as it started to bleed.  "Please, stop.  My neck hurts."  I looked at him as I felt scared of what's going to happen.  Rem huffed as he looked at me.  "Urie close the door but stay in here" he said to Urie.  Urie walked over, locked the door shut then stood by it, so the other's couldn't get in.   Rem grabbed my arm as he lowered it down.  "Rem no" I said as I lunged back, but he just pulled me closer.  He placed his finger under my chin as he made me look up at him.  "Ava, let me look and don't fight me" he said in anger.  Then he moved his finger from my chin as he moved my hair back, reveling the bite.

I watched as his eyes widened and he gasped.  "What?" Urie said as he looked back at the door.  Rem pulled me closer to him, holding me close as he rubbed my back.  At this point, I thought he was crying.  He was.  I heard his sniff in as he tightened his arms around me.  "Rem, what's wrong?" Urie asked as he looked at me.  Rem lifted from me as he backed up.  "Ava, why didn't you tell me you were bitten?"  "I...I...Didn't know myself.  But Rem, I'm not like them."  Rem backed up shaking his head.  "Ava, get out of here" he said getting angry. "Rem, it's not what you think.  I'm still your sister."  "I TOLD YOU TO GET OUT" Rem yelled at me.  I grabbed my scarf to hide the bite marks.  I was also not feeling well, because of the blood I was craving.  I covered the marks as I opened the door. 

I managed to walk to the front door as the rest of the household joined us.  "What's going on?" Ritska asked but everyone thought it.  Then silence arose.  I grabbed the handle and opened the door, then looked back at Rem.  "I'm sorry this happened.  I just wanted to protect everyone" I said as I took out the hunter's knife.  I slowly walked up to Rem as I looked down at it.  "Here, just in case they come" I said handing him the knife.  He took it from me with little confusion.  I stepped back as I started to walk out the door.  I looked back at the group before shutting the door.  "Stay safe.  I mean no harm" I said as I completely shut the door, and left the house.

Insight on Rem 

Rem kept looking at the door after Ava left.  He gripped the knife, then dropped it.  The group gave him his space but Lindo joined him at the door.  "What happened?" he asked Rem.  Rem didn't say anything at first, just continued to stair at the door.  He felt angry and hurt. His anger loosened as the truth reveled itself to him.  Rem huffed as he spoke. "Why did I just let her leave?" he asked more to himself.  Lindo looked at him in confusion.  "What are you talking about?"  Rem huffed as walked out the door. "I got to find her before they do" he said as he slammed the door. Ritska and the rest of them walked up to Lindo.  "What happed?" Ritska asked her older brother.  "He's going after her.  Come on" Lindo said to her, then looked at the other three.  "Let's go, it's a family emergency" he said as they all left the house.

Rem walked outside feeling something grab his arms.  He turned to see Mage, Shiki, Roen, Lindo, Ritska and Urie standing behind him.  "You need some help?" they asked him.  Rem smiled as he turned towards them.  "I thought you didn't like vampires?" Rem asked them.  The group looked at him in confusion.  "Your right, we don't.  But that was before she was bitten." Rem smiled, knowing his friends did betray him. "Thanks guys, we better hurry" he said as they left, not knowing where to look first.
