"So what's our exit strategy?"

"Our what?"

"Oh my God, we're going to die."

I payed no mind as my friends argued beside me. It was a group of us, six in total, trying to find our way through a haunted corn maze on Halloween. I took a shaky breath as they fought over what path to take into the maze.

It was dark except for the two light poles that marked the entrance, the halfway point, and the end. "You good?" I glanced up at the tall boy as he loomed over me grinning. I shoved him playfully and shook my head before crossing my arms protectively over myself.

"Which way do you think we should go?" They were all looking at me now. I looked at the fork in the path and shrugged before nodding to the left. They set off, two boys in the front with me and my best friends following and the boy that made my heart pitter patter behind.

We walked in darkness for a good ten minutes before I ended up at the front some how. I could here rustling in the corn stalks and my heart hammered in my chest. I turned a corner and froze.

It was a dead end.

"Guys..." I trailed off as they all saw what I did. I scooted closer to the blue eyed boy, my arm brushing his slightly. We stood for a second trying to wrap our heads around what to do now.

Then the footsteps started. Loud, heavy thuds as shoes hit the ground and corn rustled as a body moved through the stalks with haste. I began to back up and my hand unconsciously grabbed the boy's bicep. The muscle under my fingers was tense.

And then the clown came out of the stalks. We took off screaming in a blur as the clown dressed as the infamous Penny Wise came after us. A hand was gripping mine tightly and another circled my waist pulling me quickly.

We shot past the enterance again and headed down the right path.

"Hey! I think we're good!" Came the conformation from the back. I stopped and grabbed my side as my chest heaved, struggling to push air into my lungs. The arm was still wrapped around my waist, pulling me into the boy's side tightly. I clung to him and laughed.

"What a rush." I commented laughing.

They all agreed with me and laughed alittle.

Until the crazed manic laugh of a killer joined.

"You'll float,  too..."

"Oh hell no!"
