Then there was a sudden call on the ship's onboard telephone. "Hello, this is the captain of HMS Queen of the waves. To whom am I speaking?" The captain said cautiously. There was a reply on the phone. "Hello? HMS Queen of waves? You're not due 'till later, evening!" The captain then replied surprisingly.

Charlie noticed that something was wrong. "Captain? What's happening?" "We arrived 8 hours early!" Charlie replied. "Early? Isn't that good?" The Captain said in frustration, "No, definitely not. If we're too early, then the docks have to adjust their schedule  or wait for any announcements."

The other Maxwells arrived a moment after. "Charlie, is there anything wrong?" Charlotte asked. "Yes, we arrived early than the plotted schedule." Charlie said. Charlotte explained the problem. She suspected  that the  Atlantic Gyre or Gulf Stream made them 2x faster without noticing.

They disembarked an hour later, after the dock manager found a way to unload them from the ship.

The weather on Christmas Island on the day was foggy and cold. The thermometer on the radio house read -0.8 degrees Celsius. "Brrr... Pretty cold out here, huh?" Charlotte commented
