The Hero with Cancer

A Bittersweet Ending

Izuku was confined to the hospital. He was out cold for 3 days and had to undergo multiple surgeries. Ochako would visit him everyday. However, Izuku was troubled. He knew from the moment he woke up in the hospital, he wouldn't live through the end of the month. The day before he fought Keiji, he paid a visit to the doctor to get his cancer checked on. But, he learned that the cancer had gotten so much worse. He didn't have the heart to tell Ochako. But, he had to. He missed Christmas and it was going to be Ochako's birthday tomorrow. He decided to tell her on her birthday.

Once the dreaded day came. He had to tell her.

"Hello Izuku!" She said in her signature happy tone. But she knew right away that something was wrong. "Izuku? What's wrong?"

"I...............have something to tell you...." So he told her. She broke into tears.

"No....... Don't say that...." She said while crying. "It's not true.......... It's not..."

"Don't be sad.... I want to give you something..." He said as he pulled a strand of his hair off of his head. Suddenly he felt very weak. 'It looks like my time has come'  "I want you to have this." He said as he handed her the strand. She was confused at first. He began to explain how he got his powers. "My power can be passed on, and I've been watching you, and you are worthy to inherit it. The world needs a symbol of peace." Then he placed the strand in her hand, and closed it with both of his. "Promise me you'll take care of my power..... Promise me."

"I promise..... You can count on me" she said in a weak but happy tone.

"Thanks Ochako... Thank you for everything.." He said. Then he laid down his head and closed his eyes.

"What do you me-"

He flatlined.

"Deku.." She was shocked. Just like that, the love of her life was gone. She broke into tears. 'No! NO! THIS ISNT HAPPENING! DONT DO THIS TO ME!' She was so devastated that when the surgeons entered the room to try and revive him, they had to drag her out of the room.

*time skip*
It was the day of his funeral. Everyone was crying. All Might heard what Izuku did before he died. And decided that once the funeral was over, he would train Uraraka as he once did train Izuku.

The day was full of gloom and tears. Even Bakugo was crying. Then the time came where he had to be buried. His tombstone read: Izuku Midoriya "A hero to us all"

But at least he got to be the world's greatest hero before he died. He stood up when no one else could, and defeated the biggest threat in human history. He was a hero before he got into UA. Saving Bakugo from the sludge monster, and saving Uraraka from the zero point robot.
