The blade clattered to the floor, stained with dripping scarlet sea-blood. The edge went blunt as the oozing liquid crusted over it. Ariel's alluring, widened eyes glassed over as she tumbled lifelessly to the floor. Yet more blood gushed out of her sore wound, forming a pool of pain on the floor. Ariel groaned in suffering, cripples afflicting severe discomfort on her chest. She was burning, tearing, DYING! Screaming in anguish, she writhed about on the floor, clutching her failing heart. Yet no one could hear her voice. Her last breaths came out in shallow rasps, decreasing in strength. Her ashen face grimaced as death overtook her.

Suddenly, the prince was awake, paralysed with shock as he stared at her. Without processing what he was doing, he let his instincts control him. He hurriedly swept her off the floor, feeling her stiffen in distress. Panicking, he swung onto the ivy wrapping around his balcony and jumped. They both landed in a bloody heap on the floor. Sand puffed in a cloud in the air. To his amazement, she started to melt in his arms, only increasing his urge to do what he was about to do.

Placid, serene waves tickled his bare heels. Then he let go. Whoosh! Her stunning, beguiling body burst gracefully into sea foam. She became one with the sea. Faith had ended her life. But it had also brought her back home.
