Her look-a-like. Sitting next to her prince! Holding hands with him! Shivering and shaking, Ariel felt that familiar sore feeling she had forgotten about clutching her legs. Pain paralysed her legs, before mercilessly swiping her feet with knifes tearing her soft flesh. In terror, Ariel dropped to the floor lifelessly.

"Ariel!" the king warm-heartedly laughed, offering her a burly, wrinkled hand. Grateful, she clasped his hand until she was swaying weakly on her feet. "The prince was telling us how he wanted to marry this fine lady, she does look a vast amount like you!"

Time stilled. Her breath came in short, painful gasps that left her dizzy and nauseated. It felt like her poor feet were encased in the planked floor. "Ariel, this person saved me at sea..." the prince avoided glancing at her, a guilty blush flushing his features. "She's incredible!" But she never! Ariel was the one that saved her! "Thank you my dear prince," her look-a-like simpered, casting secret triumphant glares at Ariel. That was her voice!

Did she really think Ariel would back down that easily? Infuriated and affronted, Ariel lunged at her smirking, sinister face so her chair slammed into the floor. The two bodies landed with a thud on the expensive carpet, dragging gasps out of the king and sons mouthes. Brimming with vengeance, Ariel seized a chunk of her hair, gleeful when a look of fear settled on her face. "Tell them the truth, or else!" Ariel mouthed at her warningly.

"Stop this at once! You animal!" the king spat in rage. "Guards, take this creature and kick her out!" Tears smudged Ariels vision, cascading over her cheeks. This was so unfair! "Shameful!" the king bellowed, casting daggers in her direction. Fierce arms harshly lifted Ariel up and kicked her out the palace. Bewildered, Ariel tumbled onto the sand with a battered, bruised body.

A hollow, empty tingle nibbled at her legs and what Ariel saw next made her recoil in horror. Her toes had dissolved into sea foam.
