Is it ok that friends keep secrets? To me, it's fine.

Everyone has their own lives. Some people need their space.

A secret is part of their space.

It's okay for a friend to keep a secret.

...

What about couples? That's harder but still okay.

Some space is still okay. So some secrets are okay

...

Now what about married couples? I suppose it depends on the secret.

Will it hurt anyone, whether mentally, physically, or emotionally, later on? Depends on how sensitive.

What about a breakup? Definitely the earlier the better. Although why did you marry them if all you're going to do is leave them? It's not worth it. You'll be the root of all the evil.

What if it's a surprise? Depends on the surprise. Good surprise? Keep it. Bad surprise? Not worth it.

What if it's a disorder? That should've been revealed in the dating stage. If you're scared of them not loving you and you tell them this late, chances are your partner will think you don't love/trust them.

...

Trust is a different story altogether.

Everyone has their own reasons for trusting/not trusting someone.

Trauma and how the person grew up are some common reasons why people do/don't trust others.

If it's because of stereotypes, then break the stereotypes. Chances are people are not who they seem to be.

...

Inspiration: just a thought

...

Sorry if it turned into a lesson/lecture rather than what you were expecting.
