-Louis-

"For you...no, that sounds weird" I groan, setting the bouquet of flowers I bought for Chelsea on the desk in front of me. I lean my weight on both my arms, resting next to the flowers. I take a deep breath and hold the flowers once again, looking in the mirror "Here, these are for you" I hold them out in front of me as if Chelsea were here

Without warning, the door to my room flies open

"Hey man, I was wondering if-" Derek stops mid sentence "what's with the..flowers" he asks, raising an eyebrow as he points to the flowers I was holding out towards the mirror

"Uh..what flowers?" I slowly bring the bouquet behind my back

"Come on Lou" Derek laughed "those are for Chelsea, aren't they"

"Yeah" I chuckled, holding the flowers in front of me once again "I've never bought flowers for a girl before...for all I know these flowers are poisonous or shes allergic to them and I will have killed Chelsea before we even make it to the Christmas party"

"I don't think roses are poisonous" Derek smirked, grabbing his laptop from his desk

"Well I'm heading out. Don't wait up for me" I joked, sending him a wink

I grabbed my jackett from the hook on the door

"Don't forget to be a gentleman!" He called before I left the room

Don't forget to be a gentleman? Who is he? My mom?

I quickly made my way to Chelsea's floor. I trailed my hand down the long dorm hall walls before stopping at her door. It opened before I could knock

"Oh!" She said with her hand pressed gently to her chest "you scared me" she laughed lightly

"Sorry" I chuckled "these are you for" I held out the flowers "I mean, for you...these are for you"

really? I mess THAT up?

She smiled, her eyes sparkled as she did so "thank you"

-Chelsea-

The car ride to the party consisted of short 'yes or no' questions, when it didn't consist of awkward silence and long stares out of the window.

We finally arrived at the location. we got out of the car, the crisp air cold against my cheeks

As we stood at the door to the house, Louis looked down at the plate of brownies I held in my hands. His eyes widened

"I forgot a desert" he groaned, fixing the beanie on his head

"It's fine" I smile "you didn't have to bring one. But I'll say these are from both of us" I say right before the door opens

"Hey Chelsea! Good to see you. Come on in" we walked into the warm house, rubbing our feet against the welcome mat

"Who was that?" Louis said in a hushed tone as he took his coat off

"My young adults pastors wife. Her name is Mandy" I took my coat off as well, leading Louis into the kitchen area

"Now who's this?" My pastor asked, giving Louis a firm handshake

"Louis" he spoke up

"Oh, he's British! Ah, better not let this one go. Nice to meet you Louis, I'm Chelsea's pastor, Tim. How long have you two been dating?"

I can feel my cheeks beginning to heat from embarrassment. Louis puts an arm around me, giving me a light shake "we aren't dating, Sir. Chelsea won't allow it" he joked, making my pastor chuckle
