There was no need to turn around and look at him, I could recognize his voice, even in a crowded room. I could hear his steps, he took a step forward, and another, and another.

"Rikkard Ambrose" Captain Carter replied with the same intensity of my boss, still looking at me.

But it was as if Captain Carter was talking to me, and then I realized; he knows.

"Captain Carter, I hate to interrupt you, but my sister requires the presence of Miss Lilian Linton, immediately."

Then he put a hand on my waist.

"Remember my words Lilian" he then broke eye contact with me and gazed Mr Rikkard Ambrose. "You can do so much better"

So that was my opportunity, I turn around to look at him. His hand still touching my waist, we were so close, I wanted him to look at me, I wanted to know what he was thinking, but he was holding his gaze on Captain Carter, so I look at Captain Carter, who was doing the same, his gaze on Mr. Ambrose.
