"I shot my eyes at him."
"My eyes were glued to him."
"I removed my eyes from him."
Everyone, please, keep your eyes in your skull. Eyes don't wander around a room like little marbles . You don't stick your cute little eyeballs on people. That would be gross. One is, however, allowed to roll one's eyes. Why that and not the others? IDK, bro (current American idiom of young teenagers).
Your GAZE wanders around the room! You can fix your gaze on someone, because that won't leave sticky little patches on them like eyeballs would.
At one of my writers' conferences, an American Editor told how she and other editors collected their favorite misuses of eyes and giggled over them. Her favorite was : His eyes rolled down the road after the car.
You don't want your writing to be the one editors laugh over! So please, tame those eyeballs and restrain them into their safe little skull sockets.
Rant over. Namaste .
