Daniel's P.O.V
I sat up quickly, pushing Crystal from my lap. "What do you mean the police are coming?"
"I mean that they're coming." his hazel eyes were wide with fear and he looked fairly distraught. "What— how do they know where w e are?!"
"I don't know, but the boys saw a large black truck coming this way. I had some guys try to throw it off, but...they...they're dead, sire."
I cursed under my breath, and moved Crystal off my lap.
"Okay. Get more guys to hold them off, call as many men as you can out to fight. Ummm, Where are the boys?"
"They're at the house, sire."
"Which one? Where the drugs are hidden?"
"No, sire. The other house "
"Which one?!"
"The one off Midro Way, sire. "
I inhaled deeply before speaking. "Call them out as well, but make sure they get here so we can leave together. " He nodded and turned to leave. "I'm not finished," he turned back around and muttered a quick apology. "Get the boys in group one from the hideout to get the plane ready. Gather some guys from around the house to get Crystal home. Safe. "
"Yes, sire. "
Crystal turned to me in surprise. "No, I'm fighting with you. "
"No, your not. You must've forgotten about that gash on your face. "
"I'll heal," she scoffed.
"In less than 45 minutes? That's not possible. " I rested my hands on her shoulders and brought my lips to her forehead. "I'll see you next year. "
"No, I'm going with you. "
"No, you're not Crystal. "
"Yes I am. I said so, and so I am. "
I couldn't help but roll my eyes. "You're so stubborn. " I glanced at Angel for the first time since the news. I actually looked at her, from her shaking hands, to now slouching shoulders, and wide but nonetheless bright eyes. I looked to Crystal again and licked my lips. "I'll meet you there, but I want the boys to take you home safely and when you get there I want you to pack all your clothes and bring that creature thing if you want. "
"But Daniel-"
"Did you hear me?" She took a small step back with wide eyes from the base of my voice. I understood why, I barely ever yelled at her but this was serious and she was being stubborn. "Crystal," I sigh. "I need you to cooperate with me so you don't get yourself killed, so will you please just do as I asked?"
"I want to help," she whined. I looked her over and hen looked to Angel.
"You never understand when I'm trying to keep you safe, it's annoying really and now your wasting time. So please, just do as I say. " She squinted her eyes at me with her arms crossed before puffing out a short breath and uncrossing her arms. "If you say so,"
Of course if I say so. "Where are we going now? " I looked around me, at Crystal, at the young boy who's name I could never remember, and at Angel. She still looked to be in a state of shock. Where? God, where?
