I can't remember how long we stayed at the cafe before roaming the streets again. At one point, we stopped at a pub, ordering a round of shots and something else that I wasn't sure what it was. It was becoming harder and harder to think straight, and we wouldn't stop laughing. I'm not even sure what was so funny in the first place.
Our arms were linked as we trudged down the streets. The wind was picking up, stands of hair flying into my mouth. Even when it felt like everything was moving fast, I couldn't help but take in and admire the beauty of the town.
Most of the buildings were the same colour but gave off different vibes. They were decorated in bright, festive lights, the lakes and streams were so steady they seemed frozen. The people were coated with heavy dark jackets, some couples lay on the bench, snuggling into each other. It felt like a different type of paradise. A cold Paradise, very chilly, but beautiful. The shrill of a whistle and yelling and cheering, stole my attention. I turned to face a very large soccer field. From where I stood, I could see a small body maneuvering through a wave of yellow and red jerseys. The yellow shirt boy had his head bent the whole time, kicking the ball with a new found confidence, it seemed. As if he had no idea what he was doing before, but finally began to take control of it. He kicked the ball into the net and the crowd exploded with Cheers. Roaring loudly, a man ran to the field picking up the small yellow shirt boy. Maybe his father. I couldn't help at that moment to remember my own father. The stubborn, hard headed man who raised me.
"Want another one? " Crystal's voice emerged from behind me.
"Another what? "
She opened her hand, pushing out her Palm to show me. Small tablets were pushed up against each other. "When did you give me one? "
"At the bar. "She shrugged nonchalantly.
"I never asked for that. You drugged me! "
Her face was still relaxed, as if she expected this to happen. I looked at her hard waiting for her to reply. She was beautiful, I noticed. She was pale with small bright, pink lips. Her lashes were incredibly long and her brown eyes contrasted from her very dark, nearly a shade from being black. She smiled slyly.
"You didn't even notice. "
"It doesn't matter! I didn't ask for whatever those might-"
"Crystal? "
"Ian? "She looked past me and her face became even more pale than it was before.
"What are you doing back here? "
"Daniel brought us here. I'm not really sure how long we're staying. " She progressed toward him slowly, as if approaching something so delicate, to brush past it would make it shatter.
The corners of his mouth twitched into a breathtaking grin. He spoke to her now, but in a very hushed tone. He moved closer to her, his mouth falling centimeters from her ear.
I couldn't make out what he said, but the way her body shivered was more than noticable. Her head flew back and she sank into him. He grabbed her by the waist and hoisted her to get feet, grinning. "I've missed you. " he looked down at her.
"Me too. " Her voice was nearly inaudible. I rubbed my hands over my arms, i felt very akward. Yet, Crystal seemed like she was unaware that i was even alive.
"Who's your friend? " He lifted his hands of her hips and stuffed them in his brown leather jacket. I looked him over. He was quite handsome; his dark features were stunning, more so than the boy at the cafe from earlier. His eyes were pitch black from where i stood, his hair blending perfectly with the darkness and he was incredibly tan as well. His lips were light pink, and very plump. He was well built and very tall. Maybe 6'2, possibly around Daniel's height.
