The Surprise

When the movie was finished, Jake got our trash and we headed out. I stopped by the bathroom. When i was done, I went out and met Jake at the door. 

"That was great!" I said.        "Really?" Jake asked. "I dont know how you think that when you had your eyes closed for half the movie!" he smirked while saying this.

"Oh Shut up! Although that is true, what I saw was good!" i replied, with embarrassment. We got in his truck and drove off. We pulled down a road that was unfamiliar to me. "Where are we going?"

"You'll see." he replied with a smirk. I began to get worried when all the memories of horror and kidnap movies came into my head. But I shook them off and began another conversation.

"I really enjoyed that movie." I said. "It was the scariest one i have ever seen."

"Oh really? I enjoyed it to." he said. "Now, close your eyes." I closed my eyes and waited. I felt him turn and stop the truck. "Ah ah ahhh. Dont open them yet. Just sit right there and I grab and help you out of the truck. I will tell you when to open them.

"Okay."  i said this nervously. He came over and helped me out of the truck. He lead the way holding my hand. I could tell we were going through the woods because of the sticks i was standing on and the crunch of the leaves. We walked a long way before I could open my eyes.

"Okay. Now you can open your eyes." 

When I opened them, I was in complete astonishment. There were little lanterns hanging from trees and the stars and moon were shining bright down on the area. There was a plaid picnic blanket on the ground right next to a smooth river that was gently flowing. There was a picnic basket there I saw little finger sandwiches and some of that Welchers' Shining Grape Juice.

"This.... This is Beautiful... its... so romantic." I said. "How long have you planned this?"

"I had actually planned to ask you out for a while. I was actually going to go over to you the other day but I was too nervous." He replied.

"Wow. The quarter- back of the football game nervous? Thats astonishing enough." I laughed. He blushed. "Anyway. Let's enjoy this date."

We ate and talked. Talked and talked. About school, about our past, about everything. We told everything to each other. And then.........We kissed.......
