Dan's P.O.V:
I headed to my room to film a video when Phil called my name from the living room. "Yeah?" I asked, turning around. "Wanna go out for dinner tonight?" he said. I shrugged. "Okay I guess." He smiled. "Good. I made reservations at The Five Fields for ten o'clock. Wear something good." he said. "Okay." I replied, looking at the time on my phone. 9:30... I had half an hour to get ready and I still had to straighten my hair. I found my dress shirt and jacket but no matter how much I searched, I couldn't find my suit pants. "Phiiiilll?" I called, walking out into the living room as I buttoned up my shirt.
He wasn't in the living room. "What's up Dan?" Phil asked from behind me, making me jump. "First of all, don't do that you dick! You scared me!" I said, as he laughed. "Second, have you seen my suit pants?" I said. "Nope. They must still be in the wash. You can borrow a pair of mine." Phil said, running to his cupboard and fishing out a pair of pants. "Thanks." I said, taking them and heading to my room. I took off my skinny jeans and put on the pants. They were a perfect fit. Guess I'd lost weight. I tied my tie and went to straighten my hair.
Blasting Fall Out Boy, I finished flattening my hair and prayed to every inch of Brendon's forehead that it wouldn't rain. Phil and I got in the car and he drove to the restaurant. Phil seemed really nervous but he also seemed really excited. I didn't know why. We got to the restaurant and went inside. Sitting down at our table, Phil's crystal blue eyes glittered excitedly as we scanned the menu. "Are you ready to order?" a waitress asked politely. "Yes thanks." Phil said, setting his menu down.
We ordered and the waitress disappeared into the kitchen. "What are we doing here Philly? It's Friday night and we always order pizza and watch anime on Friday nights." I asked as Phil took a sip of his cocktail. "Well I thought we should do something different for once... to celebrate how far we've come." he smiled. "You're right. To us." I said, raising my glass. "To us." Phil agreed, clinking our glasses together. Our food arrived and we both dug in happily.
I finished eating first and put my plate to one side as Phil finished. "That was delicious." he said, taking another drink. "Yeah." I agreed. Phil was silent as the waiters came and took away our plates. "Dan, I've got something to ask you." he said. "Shoot." I smiled. Phil grinned, his eyes twinkling beautifully in the soft lighting of the restaurant. He took a deep breath and then began speaking.
"Dan, ever since we met all those years ago, I knew you were someone special. You were the punk boy who didn't pick on me for being gay, the boy who revealed his true side, the soft, fluffy side who no-one else saw. You give me butterflies and make my hair stand on end. You can change my mood in an instant, make my heart melt with just a few simple words. You make me happy and I'd love it if I could truly call you mine. I'm not good with words so I'm going to say this straight out... will you marry me?" he said, getting up, walking over to me and dropping to one knee and pulling out a small black box. He opened it to reveal a black ring, purple heart shaped gemstones in the centre.
I covered my mouth with my hands, my eyes watering. "YES!" I cried happily, and Phil's face spread into a wide grin and pulled me into a kiss. I could hear cheering and clapping all around us but I didn't care. All I focussed on was my beautiful boyfriend, now fiancé. We pulled apart, gasping for air and Phil slid the ring onto my left hand. I held it up, admiring it's beauty. "I love it!" I smiled, tears of joy running down my cheeks. "Lets go home." Phil said, holding a hand out for me. I took it and once we'd paid the bill, we went home.
We got home, flung off our jackets and ran up to my room. Phil pressed his lips hungrily to mine and I wrapped my arms around his torso. He put his hands on either side of my face, pulling me closer. I smiled into the kiss. Phil pulled away and I frowned sadly. "I was enjoying that!" I said. "I liked it too but I'm not fond of the taste of metal." he grinned. "Oh my god you spork!" I laughed as I realized that what he had said was what he said when we shared our first kiss back when we were sixteen.
"I love you Bear." Phil said, laying down. "I love you too Lion." I said, lying down next to him. We lay in silence together for a while until I heard Phil's soft snoring. I looked down at my fiancé, smiling to myself. I pulled the covers over the two of us and I fell asleep, Phil and I holding each other close. When Phil and I were younger, we promised each other that we'd always be there for one another. Now we'll be together, for evermore.
