"Okay, I'm counting on you, Connor!" said my teacher

Bethany looked at me

"Don't come over here, got it?" she tells me

"Your unmanliness will rub off on me."

"That's my line!" I tell her

"I'd be a problem if I caught your monkeyness!"

"Damn it, what's with this girl's problem?" I say in my mind

"I've never seen such a annoying girl!"

"She's a far cry from Hazel, or that girl I made that promise to."

"I never did she her again after that day, not even once,

but man... If only Hazel and I could be in love like I was with my first love..."

"Yeah, right!"

I go reach for my neck to check if my lock was there.

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I scream

"Hey Bethany, can you help me find my lock." I ask her

"Why should I have to help you look for something like that?" asks Bethany

"Well, I lost it thanks to that knee kick of yours, so that makes you accountable, too!" I reply to her

"No matter how I rack my brain, that's the only time it could've happened!"

Hazel's POV

I was walking to my classroom

Then I heard arguing

I took a peak at the door

It was Connor and Bethany

I wanted to know why they were fighting

So I go up to Connor

"What's the matter, Connor?" Hazel asks

"Hazel...well...I just lost something kind of important to me..." said Connor

"You did?"

"Can I help?" Hazel asks

"No, no!" I reply to Hazel

"It's her fault that I lost it, so it stands to reason that she should be the one looking for it." I say while pointing at Bethany

Bethany stood from her desk

"What did you say?"

"So?"

"What kind of locket are we looking for?" asks Bethany

I use my fingers to show how the lock looked like.

"The chain's about this thick, and there's a lock shaped like this on the end."

"Huh?" says Hazel in shock

"Isn't that..."

"You've seen it somewhere Hazel?" Connor asks

Hazel's face turns red

"Oh, sorry."

"I could be mistaken...Probably..." says Hazel

"All right." says Bethany

"Then in exchange for hunting down that locket, Connor will you promise me not to talk to me

at school ever again?" asks Bethany

"Okay." I reply

"Connor!" said my teacher

"Since I want you to give Bethany the lay of the land here, and all..."

"I've assigned her as your partner...

...in caring for the school pets, so good luck!" said my teacher cheerfully

"Why is this happening to me!" I yell

"Hey, you promised not to talk to me, remember?" says Bethany

"Like we can get our work done without you talking to me." says Connor

"And furthermore, we're not at school right now!" I say while walking away

"My, what a nickpicker!" says Bethany while walking away

"Damn it!"
