Connor's POV
~ after school ~
I went to go to the field
To look for my lock
With no Bethany in sight
~ flashback ~
"I mean, you can bet that girl already forgot she gave you that thing!" Bethany yelled
"It's totally absurd!"
~ end of flashback ~
I can't get those words that Bethany said to me the other day
"Connor!"
Connor's POV
I couldn't stop think about those words as I was looking for the look
Then I heard a voice calling my name
It was Hazel
She was running towards me
"Bethany is calling you." she tells me
"What's up with that girl, summoning to a place like this." Connor says
Connor's POV
As i was searching for Bethany
I see a figure right in front of me
The figure looks like its in the position of throwing something
"Hazel, that person right there." I ask
"It's not Bethany... is it?"
Connor's POV
A flying object was coming right up my face
Then I realized
It was my lock
"Ow, Bethany what was that for!" I yelled
"A-are you alright, Connor?" Hazel asks
"This is.." Connor says quietly
"Is that yours?" Hazel asks
"Yeah." Connor replied
"But why did Bethany have it?" Connor asked
"Bethany kept looking for it after she left." Hazel replied
"Making sure that you wouldn't see her."
"But she complained about my lock yesterday." Connor said
"There's no sweet bone in her body."
"She's unbelievably annoying, but I guess there's some good in her." Connor says in his mind
"Do you think it's time to just forget about this promise?" Connor asked
"No...." Hazel said
"No, I think you shouldn't!"
"Connor... you did make a promise, right?"
"If that someone remembers that promise like you do....
then I'm sure she'd be really sad...."
"Even if it's just a promise made ten years ago between kids..."
"You never know, it might just be something she holds dear!"
"Hazel?" Connor says quietly
"Wait... No way...."
"Oh... I'm sorry that was a weird thing to say." Hazel says while blushing
"Don't worry!" Connor replied
"Thanks Hazel, I feel better now!"
"You're right even if I see that girl again or not."
"That doesn't change the fact that this promise is important to me."
"Thank for everything, Hazel."
"All right see you later." Connor said
Hazel's POV
Connor just left
I'm so dumb
I take the key out of my hand
The key I hid behind my back while me and Connor were talking
"I couldn't bring myself to ask, again..." Hazel says
"I'm such a fool."
