I needed to do something

Connor's POV

I got that soda Bethany wanted

I was walking and I saw guys about to grab her hand

But then I see Bethany's arm prepared to punch them

This is bad

I don't want to get in a fight

So I should get her out of there casually

"Hello, hello!" Connor said

"Hi, my apologize."

"What...the.." Bethany said blushing

"My bad, sorry to keep you waiting, Bethany!" Connor said expressively

"Come on, let's go this way, this way!"

Bethany's POV

Connor was protecting me

And for the first time

I let a guy lead me by the hand

"Ju-just hold on for a second!" Bethany shouted

"Why did you stop me?" Bethany asked

"Were you trying to play the hero that saves a girl from hoodlums?"

"That's not the point!" Connor shouted

"You need to pick your battles, that's all I'm saying!"

"Don't get me wrong!"

"I'm not defending those guys."

"If you whale on creeps like that who aren't even worth whaling on, you're just as good as acknowledging that you're on the same level as them!"

"Don't be such a lame-ass!"

"Who are you to talk to me like that!" Bethany replied

"You don't have to tell me."

"As if I'd ever give those guys the time of day!"

"Oh for crying out loud!"
