Chapter 7 ~ Helping Hand
Paris opened her eyes and slowly turned her head to see Jazz still sleeping.
'Was last night a dream?'
'Or was all that real?'
Either way she didn't know and she had to know. She sat up in her bed and yawned as she stood on her feet and walked into the bathroom, taking a warm shower and dressing after she began her hair for the day.
After she finished doing that she looked at herself in the mirror and no shadow was behind her this time because she deliberatly left the light off. Flash backs from last night played in her head while she was staring at herself. She pulled her eyes off her reflection and walked into the room finding Jazz sitting up in her bed.
"Morning."
"Morning, how did you sleep?" Paris asked her and sat beside her bed.
"I don't know I didn't dream or wake up through the night so I don't know what to call that night sleep. Either way though I slept, what about you?" Jazz asked.
"Fine, hey Jazz... Did last night at the gave yard actually happen? Or was that my dream?" She asked with curiousity.
Jazz stiffened and swallowed the lump in her throat. "N..no, that really happened Paris, it wasn't a dream."
Paris nodded and sighed, "I'm so sorry I didn't believe you Jazz."
Jazz smiled at her friend. "It's okay, all I'm freaking out over is what the hell is going on."
"That's a good question... Hey Tahj seemed to know something about them so why don't you get dressed and we go see him for answers?" She asked and Jazz nodded in agreement.

After Jazz got showered, dressed and ready they made their way down the hallway to Tahj's room. Once they reached it Paris knocked twice on the wooden door and waited for an answer.
Drew opened the door and smiled. "Oh hello, what brings you to my door?" He asked with a cocky grin.
Paris looked at him and mentally rolled her eyes at his grin. "Is Tahj here, we need him. "
Drew blinked a little shocked and nodded slowly. "Yeah, oi Tahj! Paris and Jasmine are here to see ya dude."
Jazz glared daggers into the back of his head. "It's Jazz thank-you very much! Call me that again and I'll go find a gun and bring it back here and shoot you and then I'll roll you up in the carpet and drag you out to the des..."
"Alright, alright Jazz I think he gets it." Paris said interupting her friends babbling. She never liked her actual name because her mother gave her that name and her mother dumped her here because it apparently had gotten to hard to take care of her and she'd much rather go out clubing instead of staying home and helping her daughter's needs or wants.
Jazz still glared at the now wide eyed Drew.
Tahj came to the door with a bright smile. "Hello girls, what are you doing here."
"We need you." Jazz said and grabbed his arm and pulled him out and walked down the hall.
Paris looked back at Drew too see him blink and close the bedroom door. She walked with them down the hallway. It felt good to see Drew so shocked. A small smile crept upon her mouth as she looked at both her friends.
"So what is it you two so badly wanted to talk to me about?" He asked.
"About what happened last night, what was that about?" Jazz question and raised her brows at him.
Tahj gave them both fake confused looks. "What happened last night?"
"About the shadow thing remember?" Paris said.
"Uhh... I don't understand what you're talking about, I was asleep last night, what are you two on about?" He questioned, playing dumb so he hoped Paris wouldn't go investigating what happened, Felix ad Matt both told him to pretend nothing happened and he didn't know a thing about it to hope Paris took it off as a dream.
"You know damn well what we're talking about you were there and you saved Paris and me from that shadow that was behind Paris... You seemed to know alot about it last night so we want to know more. Tell us Tahj don't play dumb." Jazz said and Paris gave an agreeing nod.
Tahj shook his head. "Sorry I don't know what you're talking about, I went to sleep and then I woke up this mornig to this. I think you have me confused with someone else."
Paris frowned. "Whatever, play it like that if you want I'll find out for myself." She said and walked off down the hallway past Felix and Matt's bedroom just as they came out.
Tahj held back Jazz and walked to Matt and Felix. "I'll tell you what's going on but Paris can't know, okay?"
Jazz nodded slowly and got pulled into Matt and Felix's bedroom.
Felix sat on the bed and looked at them while Tahj smiled at Matt.
Matt sighed. "Fine... Jazz we're here at this school simply because Paris's parents died, not by an unknown cause we know the cause and they're after Paris, if Paris is weak enough, her shadow isn't controlled by her so it will attack her and kill her like her parents were killed. Now The person who controls the shadows is after Paris because what he does is, if he kills one or two people from that family he has to kill all the family, her aunt that sent her here has already been murdered, now there's Paris left. It's getting closer to her and if we tell her what's going she will get curious and out of emotion she will get depressed and the shadow will only murder her aswell. She needs to not know about all this, especially about her aunt dying." He explained and looked at Jazz.
Jazz looked at Tahj. "so, all of you know this, so you all are here for the same reason? Who are you?" She asked and blinked a couple times, trying to store the all new information.
Matt chckled. "We're the same people Jazz, only we're at this school to protect Paris because we're what you'd call Shadow hunters."
"Shadow hunters? You hunt things that nobody can touch? How's that work?"
Matt sighed, trying to make all the confusing information into easy undestandable words. "We don't touch them Jazz we simply make them go away and we try to get closer and closer to the one who is controlling them." He explained and looked at her, hoping she understands him.
Jazz nodded with a confused concentrating expression. "Oh, okay... And what is it that you all want me to do to help?"
Felix smiled. "To stop Paris doing anything like last night or even being near her shadow." He answered.
Jazz noded and sighed. "I'll try my best." She said and gave them all a small smile.
