The kids came home from walking the puppies and continued packing, while Roger started singing a new song he just came up with about "Seeing Spots".
Kali looked around the room aimlessly for Lucky. She still hadn't talk to him all day, until she finally spotted her favorite pup over by the TV.
"Hey Lucky, how are you?" Kali came over and sat down next to him.
"Fine" Lucky replied, only glancing at the human girl.
"You've been distant lately, everything ok?" Kali cut to the chase, worried for the pup with a spotted horse shoe marking on his back.
"It's just that.. well I've been lonely lately" Lucky sighed.
"Mom and Dad are too focused on the other pups, they don't have time for me anymore. It feels like everyone's been ignoring me..." He explained, soon looking up at the human girl.
"Are you ignoring me too?" The poor pup asked his favorite human, looking a little sad.
"Oh, Lucky, buddy, no. I'm not ignoring you. You can tell me anything" Kali placed her arm around her favorite pup, comforting him.
"I know what it's like to be ignored, believe me" Kali drifted off in thought of a painful old memory.
"Tell you what, when we move tomorrow i'll spend extra time with you until you get settled, how does that sound?" Kali asked the sad pup.
"I'd like that" Lucky managed a small smile.
"Good" Kali smiled back.
It was true that Kali would do anything for Lucky, going to any lengths necessary to protect him and Lucky would do the same for her. They both loved each other very much. Lucky even viewed Kali like a second mother figure to him sometimes. After all she was one of the first people he saw when he was born.
The tomboy and spotted pup soon looked back at the blank TV screen.
"You excited for the Thunderbolt show tonight?" Kali soon asked her favorite pup, since Lucky was the biggest Thunderbolt fan out of all the pups.
"You bet!" Lucky got down on his front legs in a playful manner and wagged his tail.
"So how are you doing with your diamond orb thingy?" Lucky soon asked his human companion.
"It's not a orb thingy, it's my pendant" Kali corrected, looking at the crystal that hung from a chain around her neck.
Kali's pendant was her most prized possession. It was a small yellow crystal she got as a present on her sixth birthday by a mysterious unknown stranger, who she's determined to find out who this stranger is and why this crystal was given to her. This crystal has allowed Kali to do all kinds of magic, for instances it can open up magic portals which lead to realms and other dimensions, plus the power to time travel. Which have led to many other adventures in the land before time. Sometimes even when the crystal glows, it will teleport Kali to wherever the mission may be. Luckily though however she's always been able to communicate with animals and other creatures naturally without the crystal's magic.
"Have you learned any new powers yet?" Lucky asked while wagging his tail.
"Well I usually gain a new power after every adventure I've had, but I have been learning a new power called the 'Animal Transformation'" She explained.
"I guess they wanted me to have that power cause i'm an animal lover, plus that would really help me and the gang out in difficult situations. But I haven't quite worked out the kinks yet" Kali smiled a little embarrassed.
